Now in its third year, Recycle the Runway is a cocktail hour with a unique fashion show where local designers are challenged to create a "runway ready" fashion ensemble out of a bag of "unsuitable" garments. "Unsuitable" garments are items that have been generously donated to Dress for Success Quad Cities but are not workplace appropriate for the women being served. We are expecting up to 500 guests this year, for a fabulous evening with heavy appetizers, a cash bar, a fabulous silent auction, and, of course, the highlight of the evening, a memorable fashion show filled with outstanding works of creativity. Additionally, some of your favorite local vendors will be on-hand displaying their products and offering some specials exclusive to Recycle the Runway 2017.

WHAT IS DRESS FOR SUCCESS QUAD CITIES?

Dress for Success Quad Cities began in November 2011 and is an affiliate of an international non-profit that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. In 2013, Dress for Success Quad Cities moved to a 10,000 sq. ft. building in downtown Davenport with generous in-kind support from the Bechtel Trusts. Through this and the generosity of so many others, Dress for Success Quad Cities continues to grow and expand rapidly so that one day every low-resourced woman in the Quad Cities who needs appropriate attire and a network of support will have it. In addition to suiting, Dress for Success Quad Cities offers women other ways to help them find and retain employment. Women receiving services range in age from 18-60, with 63.5% of those clients being single mothers, raising (on avg.) 2-3 children. To date, Dress for Success Quad Cities has suited & served nearly 1000 Quad Cities women and families. The services Dress for Success Quad Cities provides are important to this community & your support is greatly needed so that more women can be served.

WHEN & WHERE:

Recycle the Runway will be happening Thursday, April 6, 2017. The fun begins at 5:30pm and will continue until 9:00pm. We are excited to announce that this fun night of fashion and cocktails will be held at the iWireless Center in Moline
