On receipt of number of complaints from Sr. Loco Pilots appearing in the selection for the post of Loco Inspector but not finding place on the panel of selectedcandiditis though they have securedq.ruiiS'irrg standard of 60% marks and above due to issuance of instructions of Railway Board vide letter dated 19fi June 2009 (formation of panel on merit), Federation vide its letter dated 2310112017 followed by letter dated 0410112018requestedthe Railway Board to review the extant instructions. Federation is disappointedto note that a period of more than a year has passed,unfortunately no action has been taken by the board to review the extant instructions for simplifying the selection procedure whereby Senior Loco Pilots on acquiring qualifying marks are to be placed in the panel for posting as Loco Inspector. Incidentally, Federation desires to mention that by streamlining the procedure and placement of qualified staff in the order of their senioriry in the panel, present aberrationsmay get rectified. In this connection, Federation also statesthat this issue figures in the NFIR pNM agendaitem No.21 sent to Board on 04thJanuary 2018. NFI& therefore, once again urges upon the Railway Board to consider the points and modi$r the extant policy so that those Sr. Loco Pilots passing the qualifying standardcould find pLce in the panel. bopy of Board's decision may be endorsedto the Federation.
