Bohlen Technical Center 20104 NYS Route 3 Watertown, NY Ph. # 779-7200 Course Description: The primary purpose of the Medical Careers Course is to train the student in the basic manipulative skills, safety judgments, proper work habits and desirable attitudes necessary to achieve competency in job entry-level skills, obtain New York State Licensure, and gainful employment in the field of Medical Careers or related career fields. Organize, participate, and host a Blood Drive Hands on activities and projects with Anatomy and Physiology Career Exploration Projects
Grading/ Assessment/ Attendance Requirements: Knowledge 50% (Classroom activities and assignments, daily instruction, homework, tests) Work Ethic 20% (Includes daily attendance, which is required) Skills 30% (Skills are graded in a practical form during live work or projects) Dress Code Requirements:
Must follow Jefferson Lewis BOCES dress code Must dress professional on field trips/Internships
Required Supplies: Writing Utensils Notebooks Craft supplies at times of projects
Internships: In the spring of the year, students who meet specific criteria will have the opportunity to experience an internship in Medical Careers and/or in a field related industry. (Specific criteriaattendance, grades, ethics) Internship Policy To participate in internships Must maintain a 75% average Must provide proof of passing all home school classes Parental permission 10 or less absences No disciplinary actions throughout the year Must have all shots and physical paperwork turned in

Extended absences will be handled on an individual basis.
