Recovery Continues Meeting Format Revised October 19, 2015 Hi Family. Welcome to the Recovery Continues Meeting of Narcotics Anonymous. My name is ________, City, State, Clean Date. I am an addict. Let’s open this meeting with a moment of silence followed by the WE version of the Serenity Prayer for those who know it and want to join in. Your phone has already been muted when you enter this meeting. Please press star 6 if you want to share or read. Afterwards, we ask you to press star 6 again to mute your phone. We ask you not to put your phone on speaker because it echoes throughout the system. The Chairperson will advise any participant who has background noise on the phone to mute. If the background noise continues the Chairperson will advise the Moderator to manually mute the participant. The atmosphere of recovery must be maintained at all times. Please be mindful that this is a long distance call. Please check with your carrier so you will not incur extra charges. The Recovery Continues Meeting of Narcotics Anonymous is registered with the World Service Office. This phone line meeting was formed to make meetings accessible to all addicts. Everyone can join us. Although this is a NA meeting, it is not a substitute for face to face meetings. If you are able to attend, Narcotics Anonymous suggests you attend face to face meetings often and stay clean. We meet four days a week. All times are Eastern Standard time. Sunday: Spiritual Experience, 11am-12:30pm; Monday: Beginner’s Meeting*, 7-8:30pm; Wednesday: Just For Today Meditation, 10:30pm –12:00 midnight; Saturday: Speaker Jam, 8-9:30pm. We carry the message of hope that,”An addict, any addict can stop using drugs, lose the desire to use and find a new way to live.” We ask if you are not driving, please help us with the reading of the literature. We are an Outreach Meeting and hope to make our meetings accessible to all recovering addicts.
2 Continues Recovery Meeting Format Revised October 19, 2015
We have asked a friend to read: Who is an addict?: What is the Narcotics Anonymous Program?: Why are we here?: How it works: The Twelve Traditions of NA. We would like to thank everyone that read. Please do not cross talk. This group defines cross talk as conversation that does not relate to the main topic being discussed. Your phone should be muted. If you choose, share your city, state and clean time. If you have any announcements; please stay on the line. We will share them at the end of the meeting. If you do not get a chance to share, stay on the line after the meeting. Other addicts will still be on the line. Introduce the speaker. Thank the speaker. Part of sharing is sharing time; we ask that you keep your sharing to 5 minutes or less. After 5 minutes we will remind you to bring your sharing to a close by saying “Time” or “Bring It On Home”. Thank you! Have people share. (On Mondays we have the newcomers/beginners with one year or less clean time go first).
[For Chairperson Information: Do Not Read: Chairperson decides to carry the meeting over if need be.] [Five minutes before meeting ends] Does anyone have a burning desire? A burning desire is when you need to voice your feelings of wanting to use drugs or when you might want to hurt yourself or someone else. Chairperson thanks the speaker. We have asked a friend to read “We Do Recover” (3rd paragraph). The Recovery Continues Group Conscience Meeting is held the last Monday of the month at 8:40pm after the Monday Beginners meeting.
