Intent and Purpose The intent and purpose of the Teacher and Principal Training and Recruiting (TPTR) Program is to: •

increase student academic achievement through teacher and principal quality and increasing the number of highly qualified teachers in classrooms and highly qualified principals and assistant principals in schools. hold local education agencies and schools accountable for improving student academic achievement.
Teachers and principals, including assistant principals, and as appropriate, administrators and pupil services personnel and paraprofessionals are the intended program beneficiaries.

Program/Services Ingleside I.S.D. provides teachers various opportunities to attend staff development and/or in-services throughout the school year in order to maintain and develop skills necessary for instruction. Training is done (on-site) at each campus or as a district. District personnel also attend workshops at the ESC II in Corpus Christi and conferences throughout the state. Staff development in the district reflects surveys conducted the previous year and the outcome of student assessments on state performance standards. Each campus determines how best to improve the teaching and learning of all students by ensuring teachers, and other staff have access to sustained and intensive high-quality professional development that is aligned to challenging State content standards and challenging State student performance standards. Ingleside I.S.D.'s objective is to ensure that teachers, staff, and administrators have access to intensive and sustained high quality professional development so as to have a positive and lasting impact on the teacher's performance in the classroom.
