We recommend removing your headlight buckets before you start the installation. This will not be documented in this installation manual because everyone seems to have their own method for removal. This is where the optional new headlight bushings come in handy if yours have never been replaced. You will also need to remove the old reflector and projector assembly before you begin.

Installation Step 1: Bucket Prep
-US Hella Adaptation Mounts-
! ! !
The inner lip and screw holes areas are the parts that need to removed with the Dremel. The sanding barrel works well for this interior work. Work slowly and exactly. The more patience you have, the better the results will be. The bottom screw hole is retained.

Step 2: Mounting the projector
Before the reflector can be installed on the mount, the raised sections on the mounting face need to be grinded down. While you can get away not doing this, we highly recommend that you do.
Place the gasket into the mount followed by the projector. We recommend having the mount sitting flat on a table as you push the reflector into it. You should feel a few “pops” as the reflector is pushed flush with the back of the mount.

Step 2: Mounting the projector
!
Flip the mount over and make sure your holes are all lined up. Rotate the reflector if needed. Place the cut off plate onto the mount followed by the projector.
Take 4 of the M4X15 screws and thread them into the holes. You want to get the screws hand tight. Basically you should see a slight indentation on the silicone.

Step 3: attaching the bulb case
!
You will want to dig these bits out of your Morimoto box.
Install the bulb case onto the back of the reflector, followed by the silicone ring gasket, the notched washer, and finally the nut. Use a set of needle nose pliers to tighten the nut. You want the nut tight enough so that the case does not rotate freely.

Step 3: attaching the bulb case
!
Install the bulb mount base. We use one screw for the bulb mount base because of the design of the particular bulbs we run.
Pull your bulb gasket through the hole on the cover for the bulb case. Be careful not to tug too much on the wires.

Step 4: Completion
The US spec install is not removable such as the Bosch and euro spec Hella versions of these mounts. You will need to silicone the mount onto the bucket with your choice of sealant. We prefer ultra grey silicone as it’s fairly clean and can be removed without too much effort if need be. The rear mounted screw is mostly for alignment purposes and is not a permanent solution to keeping your mounts inside of the bucket. Attaching the mount is the last and final step before you reinstall the bucket into your car.
