READY, AIM, INSPIRE!
Why Voyagers? Because it is our mission to prepare our students for their voyage through life by providing a safe after school environment that encourages academic excellence, personal opportunities to succeed, positive peer and adult interactions and community involvement.
Enrollment
Daily Operations The Voyagers Expanded Learning Program consists of three components per day: Academic Hour– Providing literacy and/or homework assistance. Educational Enrichment– Positive youth development through STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, & math) activities to help reinforce Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards.
Attendance Students are expected to attend the Voyager program daily. They may only attend the Voyager program on days that they attend the regular school day. Students are expected to stay for the entire program each day, from the end of school until 6:00 p.m. Unexcused/frequent absences or repeated unexcused early student release may lead to student dismissal from the Voyager program.
Our hope is to service all students wishing to attend the Voyagers expanded learnin program. However, enrollment is limited to 100 students per site. Enrollment priority is bases on the following criteria: Students who have been recommended for participation by school day faculty and administration. Students who are at risk for retention and students with low academic performance. Siblings of students who meet criteria 1 or 2. Other students who wish to participate, but not necessarily recommended for academic intervention.
Recreational Enrichment– Skill building activities designed to promote physical activity, health and nutrition.
Homework Students may use the Academic Hour to complete assigned homework. We will make every effort to assist students in completing their homework with in that time. However, we do not guarantee that all homework will be complete and/or corrected. Homework completion remains the responsibility of the student and his/her parent/ guardian.
Program Hours The Voyager After School Program operates Monday through Friday until 6:00 p.m., beginning after the end of the regular school day at 2:20 p.m.. Students must be picked up promptly at the end of the program day.
*A nutritional snack and supper will be offered to each student daily
