The Minutes of the Special Meeting of the English Valleys Board of Directors on December 8th, 2015. English Valleys members present: Al Ackerman, Tammy Stanerson, Andrew Axmear, Board Secretary Wendy Ayers Members absent: Duane Allen, Terri Riegel Others present: Donita Joens, Heather Lightfoot, Amy Andreassen The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm. A motion was made by Stanerson, seconded by Axmear, to approve the agenda. Motion carried. Patti Schroeder and Shawn Snyder, IASB Financial Consultants, were present to discuss English Valleys’ current financial status. Patti discussed revenues and expenditures for the last five years and the trend at English Valleys. She informed the board that the trend of losing students gradually at English Valleys will continue to decrease revenues. She discussed making priorities in spending cuts for English Valleys and thinking of where we want to be in 5 years – cutting expenditures now before we have a financial crisis. She also discussed the Instructional Support Levy and the Cash Reserve Levy. The IASB representatives discussed that English Valleys has decisions to make on how they will cut expenditures now. She discussed operational sharing could be a possibility; sharing teachers with other districts, and other cost saving measures.
