Girl Develop It Boston 2016 Sponsorship Opportunities Girl Develop It Boston is a local chapter of the national Girl Develop It organization, a 501(c)(3) nonpro⨀ﴁt. Our chapter is committed to creating greater gender diversity in the Boston area’s technology industry. We do this by regularly o⨀㜂ering low-cost software and web development workshops, as well as professional development and networking events. Our volunteer-led organization serves a diverse group of nearly 3,000 women from the Boston area, o⨀㜂ering an average of four classes and events per month. Supporting Girl Develop It Boston will allow us to further our mission to make software and web development training a⨀㜂ordable and accessible to all women. Your contribution helps us expand our mission to create great programs and opportunities for women who want to learn to code. Our Mission Girl Develop It is a national nonpro⨀ﴁt organization that provides a⨀㜂ordable programs for adult women interested in learning web and software development in a judgment-free environment.
Our Vision Our vision is to create a network of empowered women who feel con⨀ﴁdent in their abilities to code and build beautiful web and mobile applications. By teaching women around the world from diverse backgrounds to learn software development, we can help women improve their careers and con⨀ﴁdence in their everyday lives.

Sponsorship Opportunities Sponsors are people or organizations that have an ongoing relationship with Girl Develop It Boston. Sponsors commit to supporting Girl Develop it for a minimum of one year, renewable at the beginning of each calendar year. Sponsorship commitments can be pro-rated on a quarterly basis for new sponsors who join mid-year.
Option 1: Classroom Sponsorship
The Need Our greatest need is physical space to host our classes. In order to host classes, sponsors must be able to provide: ●
Space (chairs + tables) for ~20 students
●
Convenient access via MBTA
●
Projector or video screen
●
Electrical outlets
●
Wi⨀ﴁ access
●
Restroom access
●
(optional) Snacks/beverages for class attendees
The Commitment Classroom sponsors commit to hosting three to four classes per quarter. The schedules for these classes are typically either: ● 4 sessions, once per week on the same weekday that works best for the sponsor, ● or 3 single-session classes on any weekday that works best for the sponsor. Class sessions are typically held during weekday evenings (M-Th) between 6 and 9pm.
The Impact of Your Support Sharing your space as a class venue allows Girl Develop It to ful⨀ﴁll its core mission of o⨀㜂ering a⨀㜂ordable and accessible programs to women interested in learning software development.

Option 2: Financial Sponsorship
The Need Although our modest class fees (typically $90 per four-session class) cover instructional and administrative costs, we rely on ⨀ﴁnancial sponsorship to support our outreach e⨀㜂orts, free community programming and scholarship fund.
The Commitment Financial sponsors make a contribution of at least $1,000 per year.
The Impact of Your Support Your donation will support our e⨀㜂orts to help women engage with the Boston tech community, including covering the costs of: ●
Scholarships that allow students with ⨀ﴁnancial need to attend Girl Develop It classes*
●
Materials/instructor fees for free classes targeted toward underserved groups
●
Supplies/refreshments for Code & Co⨀㜂ee gatherings and professional development and networking events
Promotional materials *At least 10% of every ⨀ﴁnancial sponsorship will be allocated to our scholarship fund; you may choose to designate an additional portion of your contribution (up to 100%) toward scholarships. ●

Option 3: Greater Boston Community Outreach Sponsorship
The Need Girl Develop It Boston aims to provide courses to women in all communities throughout Boston. To ful⨀ﴁll this goal, we plan to partner with community organizations to o⨀㜂er free courses to women in the Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, and Hyde Park neighbourhoods of Boston and to women who have been traditionally underserved by higher education. Speci⨀ﴁcally, we plan to partner with, and o⨀㜂er free courses at: ●

Note: Although Girl Develop It aims to provide courses for adult women, the Boston chapter plans to o⨀㜂er one course per year to ⨀ﴁfth and sixth graders alongside their mothers or female guardians
The Commitment Sponsors make a contribution of $3,000 to sponsor one 5 week program for one of the three organizations listed above. Sponsors indicate which program they would like to sponsor.
The Impact of Your Support Your donation will help ensure women throughout Boston, no matter what neighbourhood they live in or background they come from, have the opportunity to learn web development. Your contribution will cover: ●
Stipend for one lead instructor, two teaching assistants, and one class organizer
●
Food, transportation costs, promotional materials, and other incidentals
Remaining funds will go towards future courses for the same organization you choose to sponsor.
