2016 Summer Meal Plan Announcement and Invitation We are excited to announce that on-campus dining services will be available for summer students through Dining Dollars, the New School’s meal plan program. Summer students who participate in Dining Dollars will have the funds automatically appear on their New School ID (the newcard). Payment in the dining facility is made by swiping the newcard at the cash register and the cost of the transaction will be deducted from the student’s Dining Dollars account.* An additional benefit is that under New York State tax law, Dining Dollars transactions are exempt from sales tax. The dining facilities are conveniently located in the University Center at 63 Fifth Avenue, a major hub of student activity as it houses auditoriums, classrooms, the library, and the print output center. Additionally, Kerrey Hall, the residence hall where Summer Intensive Studies students will be housed in July, is located on floors 8-16 of the University Center. This central location, a short walking distance from all campus buildings, makes it the best option for students to grab items on their way to and from class, and to enjoy a meal during their one hour lunch break between their morning and afternoon class sessions. Meals are prepared daily with grab-and-go as well as made-to-order options. The New School makes it a priority to offer affordable, locally sourced, and healthy options that are also delicious.
