We are writing to you on behalf of the East Village Community School, a public elementary school on East 12th St between Avenues B and C in Manhattan. On Saturday, April 29, we are holding our annual Spring Auction and Gala and we are hoping you will donate to this benefit, our most crucial fundraising event of the year. This year we are celebrating 30 years of progressive education and our continued efforts to cultivate a love of learning, guide students towards their passions and help students become well informed and productive members of society. EVCS is a school committed to providing each of its pre-k through 5th grade students with a balanced academic and social curriculum. In-classroom project work and enrichment classes are critical to achieving this mission. Sadly, public funding does not cover these programs. It falls to the Parents Association to raise the money critical to sustaining art, music, science and theater enrichment programs, in-class projects, as well as green initiatives both in the cafeteria and building-wide. Your generous donation will directly support each child in our school through these important programs. Contributions, and the contributors, will be advertised to the entire school body, accessed online, shared to our Facebook page and the donations will be auctioned during our fun, well-attended, catered gala event. We hope you take this opportunity to support a great community school and our wonderful kids!
