8th Grade Science Grading Policy 2013-14, Mr. Craig I. The grade that you earn in this class will be based on the weighted average of the following categories: 1) Homework (10%) ** Headings should include your name, the date, the class period, and the title / page # of the assignment. Answers are to be written in complete sentences and all work must be show for calculations. 2) Projects and Labs (10%) **Scoring guides will be provided prior to these assignments. 3) Quizzes and Tests (60%) 4) Notebook Grades (10%) – notebooks will be graded at quarter midterm dates. ** NOTEBOOK ORGANIZATION IS AN IMPORTANT GRADE ! It is not difficult to get a good notebook grade if you organize your notebook on a regular basis. 5) Worker Quality (10%) ** Points will be earned weekly for behavior, having necessary supplies, classroom participation and turning in work on or before due dates. II. CMS grading scale is as follows: 90-100% A 80-89% B 70-79% C

III. Late work policy: An assignment handed in late will be accepted for full credit up to one week from the original due date. However, late or missing work will cause you to lose worker quality points. Late work due to absences will be accepted for full credit according to school policy. THERE WILL BE NO UNEXCUSED LATE WORK EXCEPTED DURING THE 4TH QUARTER! IV. In return for your hard work to get things handed in on time, I will make every effort to get graded assignments back to you quickly. Many homework assignments will be graded in class so you have the opportunity to ask questions.
