VarsityThe Wildcats went 5-2 on the week.  On Monday they started off by beating Millard South 4-2 in the Metro Conference Tournament Semifinal. Sam Alm was 2-3 Adria Allen went 2-2 with a homerun and 4 RBI Logan Black was the winning pitcher, striking out 9.  They lost to Millard North 1-0 in the Metro championship game. Sam Alm went 2-3 Logan Black struck out 11 Mustangs in the loss  On Thursday the Wildcats defeated Bellevue West 13-0 in 3 innings. Marissa Salazar and Sam Alm both went 3-3 at the plate. Logan Black, the winning pitcher, was 2-3 with 2 homeruns and 6 RBI. She struck out 5 and allowed 0 hits in the circle.  Friday, in the Monarch Invite, the Wildcats started by beating Central 5-1. Lexie Black was 2-3 Marissa Salazar was 2-4 with an RBI Lauren Loofe went 1-1 with 2 RBI Logan Black was 2-3 with an RBI at the plate and struck out 9 in the circle.  They then defeated Lincoln Southeast 10-0 Lexie Black was 2-3 with 3 RBI Sam Alm was 2-3 with an RBI Zarah Sagheer was 1-2 with 2 RBI Logan Black was 1-3 with 2 RBI and struck out 7 as the winning pitcher.



Saturday at the Monarch Invite saw the Wildcats defeat Millard North 1-0. Lexie Black was 2-3 with the games only RBI Logan Black threw a no hitter while striking out 11.  The Wildcats dropped the championship game of the Monarch Invite to Papio-LaVista 2-1. Lexie Black was 2-3 While Marissa Salazar, Sam Alm, Logan Black and Lexie Swift all added 1 hit a piece. JVMW 2 BW 0  Ashton Johnson shuts down the Bellevue West Thunderbirds in a tight 2-0 victory, striking out seven, and giving up one hit and one walk. In the forth inning, Ashton Johnson started off the inning with a base hit, Skyler Spreitzer then Sac bunted Johnson over to second, Caylin Eastridge and Anna Billings walked to load the bases where Catie Decker then walked in the first run of the game. In the fifth inning, Hanna Cress started off the inning with a base hit and Skyler Spreitzer got a base hit RBI to score the second run of the game. ReserveMW 14 PLV 1  Rylee Johnson Picked up the win in the first game Saturday with 9 strikeouts against Papio LaVista beating them 14-1.  Everybody's bat played a huge part in this game. MW 9 PLV 1  Anna Richling pitched a great game!

Highlights: Varsity Millard West dropped a tough one to Bellevue West 21 -14. The wildcats will be back in action next week at Papio South Friday night. JV The JV Wildcats won at home Saturday morning defeating Omaha Burke 42-12. The Wildcats play again next Saturday, September 24th at Bellevue West at 9 am. Reserve The reserve wildcats defeated the mustangs 46-0. The wildcats play again next Thursday, September 23 at home against Millard South.

Freshmen A The Millard West Freshman A team lost to Millard North 14-0. Freshmen B The Millard West Freshman B team defeated the Millard North Mustangs 20-12.

Volleyball

Highlights: Last week was a big week for the volleyball program. All levels earned wins against Bellevue East on Tuesday.  Thursday proved to be a tough battle as we played against an always skilled Papillion Monarchs. Freshmen, Reserve, and JV all won their matches. However our #5 Wildcats fell to the #2 Monarchs in five sets: 22-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-17, 9-15. This was a great match to be a part of, as both teams played great volleyball.

Both the Freshmen and JV squads were in tournaments on Saturday.



Freshmen competed in the Burke Reserve Tournament and finished 2nd, losing to Millard North in the championship match: 25-27, 21-25.



The JV team hosted an 8 team tournament on Saturday that has some of the top JV teams competing. The Wildcats ended up on top, beating Millard North in a 3 set thriller: 25-20, 24-26, 15-9.

Highlights: 

Cross country teams competed at the Norfolk Invitational on Friday and the Heartland Classic in Ames, IA on Saturday.



Girls finished 4th and boys finished 9th in Iowa. Girls had 3 medalists and boys had 1 medalist.



Looking forward to our next competition Tuesday at the Creighton Prep Invite and Saturday at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis.

Highlights: JV:  Adams played tough winning with Brown at #3 doubles after suffering a loss in his singles match. Wildcats pulled together and pushed the win 5-4 vs Elkhorn last Thursday at home. Next up: MS & MN matches this week followed by the Papio JV Tournament on Saturday. Go Wildcats! Varsity: MW 5 Elkhorn 4  Brooks Clarke and Payton Boone won both #1 an #2 singes and #1 doubles matches to solidify the win for the Wildcats!  Millard North Invite 5th place overall. Very strong play from #2 doubles getting 2nd place. Sam Brown and Owen Wostoupal close match 7-9 against Millard North in finals!
