PC 496(A) F(1 Counts) PCD 15-000713. PC 496(a) Arrest VC 10851 Recovery On 01-13-15, about 1530 hours, I was patrolling the Fruitvale area of Oakland, when the following occurred. I was flagged down to assist a female recover her stolen Airstream trailer. The victim had located the trailer at 1309 31st Avenue, the business of her recently evicted tenant, Derick Almena. During a text conversation, Almena told the victim he did not have her stolen trailer. The victim did not believe Almena and located the trailer at his business address. The victim provided a written statement and placed Almena under citizens arrest for possessing her stolen trailer. After my investigation, I determined Almena was in violation of felony PC 496(a), possession of stolen property over $950. The victim placed Almena under citizens arrest. I read Almena his Miranda Rights and he provided a statement indicating he was possession of the trailer for about a week. I transported Almena to the Glenn Dyer Detention Facility.
