Casa del Pastor Update February 2012 We want to start off by giving the Lord praise for His provision and blessings on Casa del Pastor in 2011. Looking back, we can reflect on His great faithfulness to provide above and beyond our expectations! To Him be the glory for all the lives touched this past year! __________CdP Youth living for Christ ___ . You probably remember from previous newsletters hearing about Andres and Itzel, who were attending the Calvary Chapel Bible College in Ensenada. Last May they graduated, making them the firstgeneration graduates from Casa del Pastor. They have both been occupied serving the Lord in various capacities since their graduation and are still very much on fire for the Lord. Itzel has been helping/leading worship for our church along with finishing her high school studies and hopes to go on to college and study engineering. Andres on the other hand has been interning at the Bible College working on various construction projects and has plans to return to San Vicente to serve at Casa del Pastor at the end of his internship.

seen her mature and become more established in her relationship with Christ. Holanda has a love for sewing and has caught Lisa's vision to teach the other moms to sew as an alternate means of income. They have converted one of the rooms of CdP into a sewing shop with various sewing machines, embroidery machines, over-lock machines and basically all that she needs to put together all her creations. The name she came up with for her shop is Dafne's Creations (or in Spanish: Creaciones Dafne), after one of the little girls at CdP. Aside from creating personalized items and clothing she also has classes for the moms and kids. The vision is to someday have a place for the women of CdP to work and earn money in a safe, Christ-centered environment.
• We also had a youth outreach this summer in which several youth rededicated their lives to Christ and some received Him for the first time. Since then Calvary San Vicente had their own outreach where one of the girls from CDP who rededicated her life was able to share her testimony to many youth from the community. It was so awesome to see a youth touched by Christ bearing fruit and taking a stand for Christ in her community and amongst her peers. • From June to December we celebrated three quinceañeras (Diana, Nancy, Christy) and two weddings (Mark and Katrina, Jonas and Maria). We ended the year off with our annual CdP Christmas party in which all the families of CdP were showered with Christmas gifts sponsored by the church body of Calvary Chapel Moreno Valley. • Every year a team from Calvary Chapel Red Barn takes Christmas gifts to a few hundred kids at a local migrant work camp called Las Brisas. This year a group of CdP youth that have accompanied Mark and Katrina to the bimonthly outreach to Las Brisas headed up this year’s Christmas outreach along with the Red Barn team. It's so encouraging to see these youth who have received so much from the Lord to desire, in turn, to have a heart to give to those who are less fortunate than they are.
She is grateful to the Lord for giving her this wonderful opportunity to help others and asks for prayer that God will open the doors for this project in such a way that it would benefit the women of CdP. She also asks prayer for the women that they would be encouraged to learn to use and work the machines; and for herself that the Lord would give her wisdom to teach the women. ______________2011 in Review ________ _ • Last spring Casa del Pastor was blessed with a water purifying system by a group of hardworking California Baptist University students. • In the summer our usual, faithful groups came down with their building projects. Some worked on moms’ houses and another took on a project for the church, giving us more space for Sunday School class rooms.
_____________A Boy Named Beto ________ Since we are talking about Las Brisas, the group ministering to these kids wanted to share about a boy named Beto, so that you can help us pray for him. In the last couple years we have seen him transition from a boy that could run and play to being wheelchair-bound. He is 13 years old but looks like he is eight or nine. He is thin, has lost much of his motor skills, and every few minutes goes into a seizure-like state. His dad, Juan, told us the doctors say his condition is only getting worse and there are no treatments for him. His parents are trying to provide for him and their 5 other children, along with all the medical expenses. But Beto loves coming and hearing God's word! Whenever we come out, he is there if he is able. One day Beto looked up at one of us and asked if we knew how to pray and if we could come by and
pray for him! This boy has a precious heart and loves Jesus. His dad told us, with tears in his eyes, "he told us that if anything happened to him to not worry about him because he knows he will go to be with Jesus and that he will be waiting for us in heaven." This little boy at 13, and in a wheelchair, has the confidence in God's promises that many of us so often try to over-complicate or overlook.
_______________Thank You! ____ .Once again, we are so thankful for every person and church that has given of their time and resources this past year to allow the Lord to accomplish all that He has in the lives of those we so dearly love at Casa del Pastor. Thank you for every prayer that has been lifted up in the good times and the difficult times. We look forward to all that He has for us in this new year to come! May the Lord bless you! In Christ, Lisa Heit Jeanie Sue Phegley Shelley Albert Mark & Katrina Kamio
Casa del Pastor San Vicente, BCN, México Please pray that the Lord would heal Beto's body and that He would also encourage and provide for this family’s every need.
