The Central Records Management Division shall act as the Secretariat of the Committee. The tasks of the Committee shall include, but not be limited to the following: 1. Prepare a program to upgrade and modernize the Department's records system with the aid of new technologies such as micrographics and computer integrated records retrieval systems. 2.
Develop an efficient and cost effective mechanism for receiving, tracking, releasing and delivering all records and communications handled by the Department.
3.
Develop an orderly and systematic records keeping and maintenance system as well as disposal strategies to prevent loss and unauthorized destruction of records, guided by a revised Records Disposition Schedule (RDS) duly approved by the Records Management and Archives Office (RMAO).
4.
Coordinate with attached bureaus, agencies and corporations in identifying depository areas for permanent records.

The recommendations of the Committee shall be submitted to the Secretary of Finance through the Undersecretary, PDMSG, for consideration. This Order takes effect immediately and all concerned shall be guided accordingly.
