SEC. 1.

AMEIJUINC DEPARTMENT ORDER NO . 137-87 IMPLEMENTING SECTION !( 3/'9 ARTICLE XIV OFTHE NEW CUNSTITUTION -

Section 1 of Department Order No. 137-87 dated December 16, 1987 is hereby amended to road as follows: "SEC.

1. SCOPE"

"This act of guidelines shnll govern the availment of exemption from the payment of internal revenue taxes and customs duties provided for under the National Internal Revenue Code and the Tariff and Customs Code, both as amended, AND; IN APPROPRIATE CASES= LOCAL TAXES PURSUANT TO THE LOCAL TAX CODE, AS AMENDED." 2,

Section i thereof is further amended by adding the following provisions:. "1.9.

Local Tax - means an imposition by local government unite in th exercise of their tax2na ad other revenus-raisin; powers under _ the Local Tax Code, a: amended. 'The term does not include "foes" and "0LIi r ch%au'ges" imposed by local government units . b vi_ tueo_their police pener nq pectiion and surveillance. it does not likewise include real proporty tax imposed under the Reel Property Tax Code, as anion dod.'"

SEC. 3.

Section 2 or the said Depertmunt Order is likewise amended to read as follows: "SEC. 2. All orders, circulars and/or memoranda inconsistent herewith are hereby revoked or amended accordingly.

SEC. 5.

This Order shall take effect immediately.
