Destiny Quest Lexile Range Search Video Transcripts Are you interested in finding books using your Lexile number? This tutorial will show you how to search, in Destiny Quest, for books in your Lexile range. From the Destiny page you will need to click on the “Destiny Quest” tab at the left. Begin by clicking on the Advanced Search tab at the top of the page. In the “All of these” box type in a keyword of the topic you are interested in reading about. For this tutorial I will enter the Keyword “dogs.” Next click the down arrow where it says “choose” in the “Limit my search to. . .” area. Select Lexile from the drop down menu. In the Lexile boxes enter your Lexile level range. I will enter a Lexile range from 600 to 650. Once you have entered your Lexile range press the “Go!” button to begin the search. As you can see there are many stories and nonfiction books about dogs within the Lexile ranges I entered. To see all books in the subject area you will need to press the “Next” button at the top of the search results. You can further refine your search by using the “Narrow Your Search” area. You can search by using the subject, genre, series, or a variety of other areas. I want to find book specifically about German Shepherds, so I will use the Subject search. When the subject window opens click the “Next” button until you find the specific subject you are searching for. Click on the subject you want to read about. As you can see my search now only includes books about German Shepherds. If you would like to begin a new search click the “Advanced Search” tab at the top of the page. When the window opens click “Reset.” You can now begin a brand new search. If you need further assistance finding books in your Lexile range ask your school Library Technician or Teacher Librarian.
