The President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili has held a meeting with the Minister for Foreign and European Affairs of Luxemburg, Jean Asselborn, as part of his official visit to Georgia, Tbilisi. At the meeting, Mr. Asselborn has reaffirmed his support for Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. The meeting focused on the prospects for developing bilateral relations between the two countries, security challenges, recurring cases of violation of human rights in Georgia’s occupied territories and Russia’s annexation policy that has resulted in numerous casualties. President Margvelashvili has highlighted Archil Tatunashvili’s murder. As he pointed out, Russia, the power that controls the occupied territories, must take responsibility for this incident. President Margvelashvili believes that Georgia’s partner countries should take a firm stand on this incident to ensure that such cases are never repeated.

joint press statements as part of President Lukashenko’s official visit to Georgia, Tbilisi. “Intensification of our relations is linked to your visit in 2015. Since then, we have managed to strengthen our bilateral relations in a number of important directions. Truly, your current visit summarizes the intensive cooperation that has been uniting our states throughout this period. Today, we have signed many agreements and most importantly, the framework agreement that will lay foundation for enhancing relations between Georgia and Belarus and define a strategy for neighborly and productive cooperation between the nations for the decades to come. We have signed agreements that are based on respect and consideration of each other and full recognition of sovereignty and territorial integrity of both states. This is a solid foundation for the further advancement of relations between the Georgian and Belarussian peoples. Mr. President, it is important that Belarusians visit Georgia not only for the commercial purpose, but also for their interest in new technologies, agriculture and healthcare. This open and friendly attitude opens up new opportunities for Georgia to take an example from the achievements of Belarus. We find this not only interesting, but also emotionally significant. Today, at our bilateral meeting, you said that there are no dead-ends in our cooperation. This attitude means a lot for us. You have indeed achieved a lot; you have used all that great opportunities and preserved the material-technical base of Belarus. We can learn a lot from you in this direction and prospects for this cooperation are open. Cooperation on the political and international levels develops intensively and our foreign agencies complement and support one other in international formats. Today we have discussed economic and transport opportunities in the both countries and crucial steps taken to fully make use of the existing potential. I am sure that this solid foundation that we have laid for cooperation will strengthen our ties in business and science as well. Once again, I would like to thank you for paying this important visit. Thank you for this relationship that has been established through our few years of friendship. I am sure that

your visit to my homeland will be fruitful,” President Margvelashvili said. President Lukashenko has thanked his counterpart for hospitality and friendship that is based on mutual respect. He pointed out that there are no dead-ends in Georgian-Belarussian relations, as the countries share sincere relations. “Our intergovernmental commission, experts, state companies and lawyers have done a great job. Since we have reached this agreement, we will stay loyal to our word. In case you need help, we will help you in every possible way. Two thousand kilometers is the distance from Minsk and Tbilisi; this is not a big distance. You should know that we live in one house; you should remember that you have a loyal friend in the center of Europe, with whom you share cooperation and trade. We are ready for this cooperation. We have never let Georgia down; our door is always open for cooperation with your country. I will always support all bilateral projects that further deepen our relations. As a citizen, as a head of my country, I wish Georgia peace; I would like nice Georgian people to live in prosperity, as they deserve it. Georgian nation is an ancient distinguished nation that has achieved a lot. We are always ready to help you,” President Lukashenko said.

his memory. President Margvelashvili will award Archil Tatunashvili the Order of Honor for revealing exceptional bravery and self-sacrifice while serving own country. According to President Margvelashvili, today we have witnessed the real face of the occupant that can kidnap and torture people. We have seen that after this murder, the occupant took more perfidious action; the occupant wanted to insult Georgia by not allowing transportation of Tatunashvili’s body to the homeland. “Today we have also seen Georgia that has given a right answer to the occupant. We have seen the society not divided, but united by this tragedy. I would like to address those who plan such perfidies – we have been going through this for years and we are ready for this battle. We have always been victorious and will be winners in this battle too. For his honorable life and death, I award Archil Tatunashvili the Order of Honor,” President Margvelashvili said.
