Attached is DepEd-Advisory No. 359, s. 2017 dated December 28, 2016, re: 2017 · NATIONAL SEMINAR-WORKSHOPS OF THE PHILIPPINE PEDAGOGICAL INSTITUTE, content of which is self explanatory, for the information and guidance of all concerned. Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no disruption-of-classes policy stipulated in DepEd Order No . 39, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuing Compliance Therewith. This is also subject to the no-collection policy as stated in Republic Act. No. 5546 entitled An Act Prohibiting the Sale of Tickets and/or the Collection of Contributions for Whatever Project or Purpose from the Students and Teachers of Public and Private Schools, Colleges and Universities .

Obj_ective • To provide the participants with framed research questions and identified ways to gather and analyze data using either qualitative or quantitative (or both) methods of research • To familiarize them with the process of presenting research papers in conferences • To equip them with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to pursue additional research projects for classroom improvement, research journal publication and research paper presentation • To familiarize the participants-with-various leadership styles which are deemed relevant in the management of K to 12 schools • To give them knowledge in handling legal issues and problems concerning the management of school finances, enrolment, human resources, community affairs, and student behavior • To give them a working knowledge of Philippine laws that are useful in making decisions and in facing challenges in the management of senior high schools • To help the participants conquer their fear in public speaking and discover their self-confidence for communicating in front of a big audience • To provide them with lessons from the resource speakers who will demonstrate best strategies and practices in teaching oral communication • To encourage them to come up with their own plans in teaching oral communication that will take in_§]:J_iration from the best practices learned ~ To familiarize the participants with the geographic, linguistic, and ethnic dimensions of Philippine literary history from pre-colonial to contemporary • To help them identify representative texts from different regions and countries for discussion in their own classrooms • To provide them with lessons from the resource speakers who will demonstrate best strategies and practices in teaching 21st Century Literature from the Philippines and the World

The target participants are teachers, head teachers and school principals from both public and private elementary and secondary schools.
