Other news Purchasing Uniform In September we became aware that there had been some problems in purchasing uniform from our supplier Emblematic. In an effort to get more feedback on this, we emailed an invitation to all parents/carers to comment on their experience. Over 30 responses have been received. Some indicated no difficulties, particularly when orders had been placed before the summer holiday. Other responses highlighted delays in receiving uniform and poor customer service. The price charged and quality of the clothing was also questioned. In an effort to improve this service we have contacted Emblematic and will be meeting with them to see if they can address the concerns. We are considering working with other suppliers if we think this is the best means to improve the service. We will update you of progress in a future newsletter. KS3 English Study Guide Parental involvement is really helpful to ensure our students have all of the support they need. We have provided an overview of coverage for KS3 and some suggested questions to help your child talk about their learning. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mwVnzte05ZENW6WR4TpQTfj8yxLN8uakV 5mbpRGkSAI/edit?usp=sharing Attendance Please see attached our leaflet giving you advice and support regarding attendance. It is absolutely clear from looking at student outcomes at Burnside that good attendance (above 95%) has a significant impact on student outcomes and grades at all age groups. If you have any questions, please contact Mr Lloyd. Thank you for your continuing support in ensuring students attend every day. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5JOiE-_Qpo4b2lJUWI1OGpieEFQeEJmZjZTRF9EZ E84ZTFn Contact If you have any issues or would like any further information, please check the school website in the first instance (www.burnsidecollege.org.uk) or contact the school directly: Tel: 0191 2598500 email:
