Term 4 Week 7
Message from the Principal This year, as every year we have been wonderfully supported by many parents and community members that have given freely of their time and energy to make our school the fantastic place it is. We have two parent bodies, our P&C and our School Council. We also have regular volunteers that help in our classrooms, in the canteen and around the school. This level of support is not to be underestimated as it does not happen at many schools to this degree. Our good friend Tracy Blaszkow from KidSafe WA highlighted this recently when she came out once again to run an approving eye over the new additions to our nature play. “How amazing is this nature playground at Kalamunda Primary School? All designed and built by a very clever group of parents!” Tracy told us that very few schools have that level of expertise and dedication from their parent body and most relied heavily on contractors at a huge cost!

P&C are truly amazing and well supported with events such as the colour run, which was an awful lot of fun, raising funds that are then put back into the school and the children. Recently the P&C put some of those funds towards new shade shelters for our sports days. One of our parents, Rod Sellin, is at BCF Midland and he has well and truly looked after us with a fantastic deal for the new shelters. BCF have also supported the P&C through donations for fundraising. If you need a break from the world and are heading out yonder go in and see Rod at BCF Midland. Honestly we are so lucky to have such a small town community in this modern world. Thank you to everyone that makes it so, I could list many, many more but suffice to say that our school is what it is because our community is what it is. Absolutely Brilliant!! Yours Sincerely Lee Bates
Snake Bite Incursion Claire from St John's Ambulance spent the morning teaching our children how to treat a snakebite injury. As the weather warms up, please take care to watch for snakes in bush land, gardens and in the streets. Ask your child about DRSABCD. Mrs Davies
