Eliot-Hine​ ​Modernization​ ​Project​ ​Update​ ​-​ ​New​ ​Path​ ​to​ ​Metro Edited​ ​12/5/2017

As​ ​part​ ​of​ ​the​ ​Maury​ ​Elementary​ ​School​ ​modernization​ ​project,​ ​Maury​ ​will​ ​move​ ​to​ ​a​ ​trailer​ ​complex​ ​on the​ ​field​ ​at​ ​Eliot-Hine​ ​Middle​ ​School​ ​during​ ​winter​ ​break​ ​in​ ​December​ ​2017/January​ ​2018.​ ​ ​Maury​ ​will utilize​ ​the​ ​trailers​ ​for​ ​the​ ​remainder​ ​of​ ​SY17-18,​ ​and​ ​for​ ​all​ ​of​ ​SY18-19.​ ​ ​This​ ​change​ ​will​ ​begin​ ​Monday, December​ ​11,​ ​2017​ ​and​ ​impact​ ​the​ ​way​ ​Eliot-Hine​ ​students​ ​and​ ​staff​ ​exit​ ​the​ ​building. Maury​ ​trailers/swing​ ​space​ ​will​ ​be​ ​enclosed​ ​by​ ​a​ ​security​ ​fence​ ​and​ ​close-in​ ​the​ ​space,​ ​making​ ​it inaccessible​ ​to​ ​non-Maury​ ​students​ ​and​ ​staff.​ ​Starting​ ​December​ ​11,​ ​2017,​​ ​Eliot-Hine​ ​students​ ​will​ ​now be​ ​directed​ ​to​ ​the​ ​exit​ ​the​ ​building​ ​towards​ ​17​th​​ ​Pl.​ ​NE,​ ​instead​ ​of​ ​using​ ​their​ ​current​ ​exit​ ​point​ ​outlined in​ ​yellow.​ ​ ​The​ ​new​ ​exit​ ​paths​ ​for​ ​E-H​ ​students​ ​are​ ​outlined​ ​in​ ​red​ ​above.​ ​This​ ​reroute​ ​will​ ​help​ ​both school​ ​communities​ ​share​ ​the​ ​location​ ​during​ ​Maury’s​ ​modernization​ ​project. ●

Students​ ​will​ ​be​ ​directed​ ​to​ ​walk​ ​along​ ​17th​ ​St.​ ​NE​ ​and​ ​then​ ​along​ ​East​ ​Capitol​ ​St.​ ​NE,​ ​adjacent to​ ​the​ ​front​ ​of​ ​Eastern​ ​Senior​ ​High​ ​School​ ​to​ ​access​ ​the​ ​Metro​ ​Station. Please​ ​be​ ​advised,​ ​E-H​ ​students​ ​may​ ​not​ ​be​ ​able​ ​to​ ​walk​ ​across​ ​Eastern’s​ ​field.
