Purpose

he purpose of this Report to the Parents is to give an update on the performance and progress being made toward improvement goals. In this report, we have provided brief goals, programs, activities, awards, and recognitions for students and teachers.

Special Recognitions

Goals 

Provide opportunities to engage family, community, and all other stakeholders in the school environment.









Increase the overall passage rate of students taking the End of Course and Advanced Placement Exams.

Dual-Enrollment partnerships with Midlands Technical College and Winthrop University: Offering English 101 & 102, Psychology 201, Sociology 101, Mus105, Mat 110, Mat 111, Bio 205 and Teacher Cadet



Utilize blended instructional strategies to personalize student learning and accelerate college and career readiness.

Advanced Placement courses offered: U.S. History, Literature, Language, Calculus, Chemistry and Human Geography



Employ strategies to increase the number of students who graduate on time.

Over 60% of the graduating class of 2016 have been accepted to a higher institution of learning



Selected student representatives will participate in Boy’s State, Girl’s State, The SC Washington Tour, and the Rotary Youth Leadership Conference.



The Visual and Performing Arts Festival (Arts Alive) highlighted student work during Youth Art Month and Music in Our Schools Month.

Accomplishments Actions Planned 

Increased the average score for SAT and ACT examinations.



Increased the overall End of Course passage rate.



Increased FCHS graduation rate from 76.9% to 90.7%.



Increased Algebra 1 EOC from 82.1% to 88.8%.



Increase in overall passage on Advanced Placement exams.



Invite and encourage all parents to attend school related events as well as plan more family related activities to increase parental involvement.



Engage and partner with community/business organizations to plan and implement services and strategies to improve student achievement.
