INVITATION: FOSTER CARERS FOR REFUGEE CHILDREN IN REDBRIDGE Redbridge Citizens, the local alliance of national community organising charity, Citizens UK, invites you to join us in helping to find foster care parents for refugee children stuck, vulnerable and alone, across Europe. Details: 13th July, 20:00 – 21:30 at the Becket Centre St Thomas of Canterbury Church 557 High Rd Woodford Green IG8 0RB Children’s charity, CORAM and Citizens UK are working together to appeal for new foster parents in Redbridge, in particular, to help unaccompanied children fleeing conflict all over the Middle East. Tens of thousands of children are alone, subject to the dangers of human traffickers across Europe. While the UK government has agreed to resettle unaccompanied refugee children through the Dubs Amendment, the number of children welcomed is dependent on how many new foster care parents come forward. Even 5 new foster carers per local authority across the UK would bring 3000 young people to safety. On 13 July, we will hear testimonies from special guests and have specialist input for people considering becoming foster care parents in the Borough. For more information please contact Angela on
