Crochet Stitches

Single Crochet (sc) Insert your hook into the next stitch. Yarn over, pull back through that stitch (2 loops on your crochet hook). Yarn over, pull through all 2 loops on your hook.

Rnd 1- Ch3 using “Soft Fudge” yarn and 3.50mm hook, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 4 sc in next st. (Note: You are now going to be working on the opposite side of foundation chain.) 2 sc in the next st. Rnd 2- Start crocheting in 1st st from the previous rnd. 2 sc in the next st. 1 sc in the next 2 sts. 2 sc in the next 2 sts. 1 sc in the next 2 sts. 2 sc in the next st. (12 sts) Do not sl st in 1st sc of this rnd. Rnd 3- Start crocheting in 1st st from the previous rnd. 2 sc in the next st. 1 sc in the next 4 sts. 2 sc in the next 2 sts. 1 sc in the next 4 sts. 2 sc in the next st. (16 sts) Do not sl st in 1st sc of this rnd.

Size: Pattern is made for 0 - 6 months old. Changes for size 6- 12 months are in [ ]. Finished Measurements (Sole Length) 0 - 6 month old – 9cm (3.5”) 6 - 12 month old – 10cm (4”)

Yarn: Champagne White – 1 Skein Rose Red – 1 Skein Soft Fudge – 1 Skein

Rnd 4- Start crocheting in 1st st from the previous rnd. 2 sc in the next st. 1 sc in the next 6 sts. 2 sc in the next 2 sts. 1 sc in the next 6 sts. 2 sc in the next st. (20 sts) Do not sl st in 1st sc of this rnd. Rnd 5- Start crocheting in 1st st from the previous rnd. 2 sc in the next st. 1 sc in the next 8 sts. 2 sc in the next 2 sts. 1 sc in the next 8 sts. 2 sc in the next st. (24 sts) Do not sl st in 1st sc of this rnd. Rnd 6- Start crocheting in 1st st from the previous rnd. 2 sc in the next st. 1 sc in the next 10 sts. 2 sc in the next 2 sts. 1 sc in the next 10 sts. 2 sc in the next st. (28 sts) Do not sl st in 1st sc of this rnd. [Rnd 7]- Start crocheting in 1st st from the previous rnd. 2 sc in the next st. 1 sc in the next 12 sts. 2 sc in the next 2 sts. 1 sc in the next 12 sts. 2 sc in the next st. (32 sts) Do not sl st in 1st sc of this rnd. Rnd 7 [8] – 10 [12]- Start crocheting in 1st st from the previous rnd. 1 sc in the next 28 [32] sts. Do not sl st in 1st sc of this rnd.

Rnd 11 [13]- Start crocheting in 1st st from the previous rnd. 1 sc in the next 28 [32] sts. Sl st in 1st st of this rnd.

Rnd 12 [14]- Attach yarn (Champagne White ) to the 26th [30th] st of 'Rnd 11 [13]'. 1 sc in the next 28 [32] sts. Sl st in 1st st of this rnd. Rnd 13 [15]- Change yarn colour to “Soft Fudge”. Ch1, 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in the next 27 [31] sts. Sl st in 1st st of this rnd. Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.

'Heel'. Turn your work. Row 6- Skip the 2 sl sts, 1 sc in the next 6 sts. Sl st in the 3rd [4th] and 2nd [3rd] st of 'Row 12 [14]' of 'Heel'. Turn your work.

0 – 6 Month Old Size Row 7- Skip the 2 sl sts, 1 sc in the next 6 sts. Sl st in the 20th st of 'Row 12' of 'Heel'. Turn your work. Row 8- Skip the 1 sl st, 1 sc in the next 6 sts. Sl st in the 1st st of 'Row 12' of 'Heel'. Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.

Heel: Row 1- Using 3.50mm hook, attach yarn (Soft Fudge) in 19th [22nd] st. of “Rnd 13 [15]”of “Toe of Bootie”. 1 sc in the next 20 [22] sts. Turn your work. Row 2 – 12 [14]- Ch1, 1 sc in the same st. 1 sc in the next 19 [21] sts. Turn your work. Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.

Closing Heel: Row 1- Using 3.50mm hook, attach yarn (Soft Fudge) to 8th [9th] st of 'Row 12 [14]' of 'Heel'. Sc in the next 6 sts. Sl st in the next 2 sts. Turn your work. Row 2- Skip the 2 sl sts, 1 sc in the next 6 sts. Sl st in the 7th [8th] and 6th [7th] st of 'Row 12 [14]' of 'Heel'. Turn your work. Row 3- Skip the 2 sl sts, 1 sc in the next 6 sts. Sl st in the 16th [17th] and 17th [18th] st of 'Row 12 [14]' of 'Heel'. Turn your work. Row 4- Skip the 2 sl sts, 1 sc in the next 6 sts. Sl st in the 5th [6th] and 4th [5th] st of 'Row 12 [14]' of 'Heel'. Turn your work. Row 5- Skip the 2 sl sts, 1 sc in the next 6 sts. Sl st in the 18th [19th] and 19th [20th] st of 'Row 12 [14]' of

6 – 12 Month Old Size Row 7- Skip the 2 sl sts, 1 sc in the next 6 sts. Sl st in the 21st and 22nd st of 'Row 14' of 'Heel'. Turn your work. Row 8- Skip the 1 sl st, 1 sc in the next 6 sts. Sl st in the 2nd and 1st st of 'Row 14' of 'Heel'. Turn your work. Row 9- Skip the 2 sl sts, 1 sc in the next 6 sts. Sl st in the 22nd st of 'Row 14' of 'Heel'. Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.

Border: Rnd 1- Using 3.50mm hook, attach yarn (Champagne White) in “Rnd 8 [9]”of “Closing Heel”, right in the middle of the back of the bootie. Ch1, 1 sc in same st. Crochet 37 [43] sc around border of bootie. Sl st in the 1st st of rnd. (38 [44] sts) Fasten off, and weave in loose ends.

Rosy Cheeks: Rnd 1- Ch2 using “Rose Red” yarn and 3.00mm hook, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sl st in the 1 st st of

this rnd. Fasten off, and weave in loose ends. Repeat 'Rosy Cheeks' pattern 4 times. Sew 2 'cheeks' onto the front of each bootie, next to the 'smile'.

Eyes: Rnd 1- Ch2 using “Champagne White” yarn and 3.00mm hook, (1 sc, ch 1, 1 sc, ch 1) in 2nd ch from hook. Sl st in the 1st st of this rnd. Fasten off, and weave in loose ends. Repeat 'Eye' pattern 4 times. Sew 2 'eyes' onto the front of each bootie, right above the 'smile'.

Smile: Rnd 1- Ch8 using “Champagne White” yarn and 3.00mm hook. Fasten off, and weave in loose ends. Repeat 'Smile' pattern twice. Sew 1 'Smile' onto the front of each bootie, right below the 'eyes'.
