ROTA 2.1E apparatus and accessories ROTA2.1E is a custom machinery designed for European Standard EN12472.2005. Metallic articles including earrings, watch straps and tighteners, zippers and spectacle frames with direct and prolonged skin contact are subject to this test. Release of nickel ions from these articles’ metallic materials in direct and prolonged skin contact can cause sensitization, nickel allergy and in severe cases even nickel dermatitis. This EN12472:2005 describes a method for accelerated wear and corrosion, to be used for the detection of nickel release from coated metallic articles. These items to be tested are exposed to a corrosive atmosphere before being placed into the tumbling barrel with retaining assembly of ROTA2.1E together with abrasive paste and granulate. The barrel is rotated so as to subject the test pieces to friction from the mass of abrasive granulate.

Recover DNA fragments from agarose gels Omega Bio-Tek’s E.Z.N.A.® Gel Extraction kit uses HiBind® DNA spin column technology to recover DNA bands 100bp-20 kb in length from all grades of agarose gel with yields up to 85%. The DNA band of interest is excised from the gel, dissolved in Binding Buffer, and applied to a DNA HiBind ®spin column. Following three wash steps, DNA is eluted with deionized water or Elution Buffer and is ready for downstream applications such as ligations, PCR amplification, restriction enzyme digestion and various labeling reactions. Kits can be also use to purify DNA fragments from PCR products and enzymatic reations. Two spin column formats (V-Spin Column and Q-Spin Column) are available for these kits.
