To conduct various types of traffic related information, audits and survey according to directives and to document the relevant data in the required format.

Primary function:

Conduct traffic survey Observation, counting of and capturing of transportation information in various formats. Reporting punctual at predetermined assembly point, working for specific periods and times at predetermined positions. Documenting relevant information. Carefully entering traffic survey data on the survey forms, time, period, environmental effects and description of the intersection. Checking calculations and totals, as well as verifying the observed traffic data. Recording any abnormalities at the specific counting points. Provide management inputs. Discussing new methods and ideas on traffic surveying process.

Being in control of operational teams that are responsible for the installation and maintenance of sewers, connections, extensions, pump stations, siphons and meter houses, and the removal of sewer blockages from municipal and private sewers. The respective incumbents should ensure that the resources of this Sub-Section are utilised in such a way that the operation and maintenance of all waste water collection infrastructure are done to a high quality standard, in a cost effective way, within a reasonable time period, according to the specified standards and safety legislation

N3 or equivalent qualification Appropriate trade certificate as Artisan (Plumber) (red seal) Relevant experience in operations and maintenance of municipal sewer and water networks, pump stations and self-priming pumps Valid Code EC1 driver’s license with a valid PDP Computer literacy. Good people skills. Appropriate experience in conflict resolutions of sub ordinates. Technical knowledge of Municipal Sanitation infrastructure.

Primary functions

Managing and administrating operational activities of plumbing teams and pump station Utilisation and if so required re-allocating of resources for day to day operational and maintenance activities. Manage time sheets, job cards, and overtime and standby schedules. Insure that minimum standards and Quality control are complied with in terms of Operations and Maintenance of Sewer Networks and pump stations. Manage and insure technical compliance of contractors or Private Service providers.
