Landrover Freelander Spotlight Bracket Fitting Instructions Tools Required 1) Spanner / socket – 13mm 2) Nutsert insertion tool – ( these can be purchased from Powerful UK ) 3) Cross head screw driver ( removing front bumper ) 4) 10mm socket ( removing front bumper ) Spotlight fitting kit contents 2 x spotlight brackets – ( note both brackets are identical ) 2 x rubber end caps 4 x M8 nutserts + M8x40 stainless steel bolts + stainless spring washer Fitting Details STEP 1 – Remove front bumper. The fixing locations are shown below – all of them are easily visible apart from the 2 bolts that (marked with ! in picture below) must be accessed be removing the panel in the front plastic wheel arch liner.

STEP 2 – Mark centre point of cross member with a marker pen and then mark bracket position as shown below.

STEP 3 – Position the brackets as shown and mark 2 holes per bracket. Note that each bracket mounts on 2 bolts * the side closest to the centre of the vehicle uses the rear hole * the side further from the centre of the vehicle uses the front hole. STEP 4 – Using a 10.5mm drill bit drill the marked hole ( 4 in total ) [ TIP – use centre punch for accurate marking ] STEP 5 – Push the nutserts into the holes as shown until the collar is in contact with the cross member. The nutserts should be a tight fit in the hole so a gentle tap may be required.

STEP 6 – Use the nutsert tool to compress the nutsert inside the cross member hence forming a captive nut. STEP 7 – Mount brackets and secure with bolts to 28Nm STEP 8 – Prepare any required wiring for lights while bumper is removed. STEP 9 – Replace front bumper taking care that the spot light brackets pass through the hole in the front bumper. STEP 10 – Fit rubber caps to front of brackets STEP 11 – Mount lights and complete wiring.

These auxilliary light mounting brackets are ideal for mounting spotlight, driving lights, fog lights, high power lights, auxiliary lights etc. Please note these are not genuine Landrover Freelander parts ( Part number STC7907AA ).
