1. Remove the protective covering from the source winding and mount it with the earth tag under the copper rivet nearest to the web address on the stator. !

2. Solder the brown wire to the ‘hot’ output tag as shown. Mix the two parts of the “double-bubble’ glue and apply a small amount over the soldered joint. It will set in 5 minutes or less and is best applied when it just starts to thicken. See manufacturer’s website for safety data and advice on handling of epoxy glue.!

3. Move the stator so that the 3 mounting screws are central in the adjustment slots, tighten the screws. Fully assemble the flywheel to the crank and rotate by hand to ensure the stator is clear of the rotor, removing the spark plug will allow the engine to be turned by hand. A clearance of 0.2 - 1.0 mm (0.008 to 0.040”) is normal. The clearance should be right as supplied so only a check to ensure there is no contact is all that’s required.!

4. Check the ignition timing with a strobe light. This will be different if you are swapping the early part to this uprated version. We recommend the timing is set at 12 degrees BTC at 1,100 RPM (+0/-3 degrees). Setting the timing to the old points ‘F’ mark will give retarded ignition at higher RPM. The kit can be adjusted to suit riding style, but timing other than specified is the owner’s responsibility. !
