LINE AND STAFF RELATIONS Background Administration of the district schools occurs within a policy framework that includes the district organization structure and the communication and decision-making processes. The framework functions as follows: ●

The Board establishes policy.

Implementation of Board policy and other major decisions are assigned to the chief superintendent who, in turn, may delegate aspects of that implementation to senior administration.

All administrators make day-to-day decisions within their administrative teams, operating within the limits of Board policy and district administrative procedures. Administrators must accept responsibility for their decisions and seek efficient operation of their teams

All employees of the district, no matter of their roles and responsibilities, contribute to the success of the students we serve.

Nothing in this statement is to be interpreted as intended to interrupt the free flow of ideas and assistance among personnel at every level. Procedures 1. Each district employee is responsible to the chief superintendent. The chief superintendent is responsible to the Board. 2. The chief superintendent will annually develop an organizational structure, to facilitate the effective and efficient operation of the district. 3. The structure shall outline working relations, where each employee will have a direct supervisor. 4. Formal direction shall follow the organizational structure. 5. Personnel will immediately inform their direct supervisor of all matters with serious personnel, legal, liability, financial, political, health or safety implications.
