Honors Choir The MSVMA Honors Choir program is an amazing opportunity to perform with other fantastic vocalists from the state of Michigan. You must submit an online audition by October 5th for a place in the Honors Choir program. The audition will consist of singing your vocal part of Sure On This Shining Night by Morten Lauridsen a cappella. If you are selected as a member of the Regional Honors Choir, then you will be learning 4 more pieces of music for the Regional Choir and State Honors Choir audition, along with an Intermediate level sight reading exercise in December. You must make sure all the dates below are free of conflicts. If you are selected as a member of the Honors Choir, you must attend all rehearsals and performances. If a student misses an obligation to the Honors Choir program, they will put the entire Grand Haven Choral program on probation with MSVMA which will effect Solo & Ensemble and Choral Festivals. Make sure you check and are free on the following dates:
December 3, 2016 - Regional Honors Choir/State Auditions (All day event) January 19-21, 2017 - State Honors Choir @ M.M.C. (Thursday, Friday & Saturday) May 18-20, 2017 – MYAF All-State Choir @ WMU (Thursday, Friday & Saturday) The audition fee is $25 per person. The deadline for online audition submission is October 5th, 2016. You will find a downloadable version of the audition piece along with information about audition requirements at www.msvma.org/HSHonorsChoir. You will not be able to submit your online audition until the $25 payment is made online via Acceptd. It’s a great experience! We will start rehearsing after schools, during lunch, or when convenient. We will also help create your audition video that will be uploaded to the Acceptd program.
