My trip to Sweden By Dishana Thevanantham and Liliana Xu Ruini
This trip was one the transnational meetings organized by the teachers of the Erasmus+ project “What’s New on the News”. This meeting took place in Kungsbacka, a small town near Gothenburg in Sweden where we stayed for four days. The first day we had the welcome meeting at Elof Lindalv school , then we did some activities, but before we visited the school; it was so big that we could get lost easily, a part from this school was very big and it gave a great atmosphere. In those days we had also some guided tours in English to visit the area near Kungsbacka. On Tuesday, we visited a Newspaper in Kungsbacka and then we went to Tanushed, it is a place where you can find the houses of Vikings, where the guide showed us the rock carvings and a rock with red engravings done by Vikings. The next day we went to visit Gotheburg where the guide explained the history of the city and later we went to a shopping center. This was one of the funniest day because ,while we were coming back to Kungsbacka, we and our teacher got down off the train at a wrong station, Kallered station instead of Kungsbacka and we had to wait quite an hour to get the next train; anyway we had great fun. The last day, in Kungsbacka, we went by bus to Varburg to visit Bocktensmannan, after that we went to Askhuts, a cultural reserve in Holland, where the guide showed us the houses of four farmers and told how their live was. After all those tours we had a farewell dinner at school which was organized by the school’s chef and students. On Friday morning our group moved to Stockholm. We stayed only two days so we could not visit much, but we saw as much as we could. The first day in the afternoon, we had a guided tour of the city in Spanish ,and we could appreciate the beautiful town centre with its buildings and its narrow streets, full of souvenirs shops . After that, we walked a lot to look for a cheap restaurant where we could have dinner and have a rest too! During our walk we had the chance to admire the beauty of the city at night with the lights reflecting on the water. The next day , according to the plane we had made, we visited the “City Hall” where it is held the Nobel Prize dinner on the 10th of December. In the afternoon we went to the Vasa museum to see the oldest vessel in the world, which was found in 1968, after 333 years, under the sea near Stockholm’s harbor; at last, we went to the“Hard Rock” café to do some shopping. This trip has been an extraordinary experience for us especially working with other students and making new friends. We really loved it!.
