My Trip to Japan By Isaac Harwood There were many memorable places and people in Japan. One of the memorable places was the Edo Wonderland theme park. The whole area is set in the Edo feudal period of Japan’s history. With men and women walking though the streets dressed in clothes of the time, it feels like you’re actually in the Edo period. Some of The Shinto shrines, with all of these buildings painted in elaborate colors and elegant designs, offer a look into the religion of the people of Japan. Another expression of religion was found in the majestic Buddhist temples. The Japan trip was a wonderful experience filled with many fun things to do and people to see. After getting through the airports we met some of the wonderful people. At the International club we learned about the culture of the country. We were very honored to meet the mayor of Nikko and the head of the Council. They graciously invited us to their City with open arms. The people of the Japan were so very kind. Our host family went out of their way to make the trip memorable. I was very sad to leave my “second family.” I greatly enjoyed my trip to Japan, and I would encourage other students to consider Sister City trips to this beautiful country with beautiful people. The only hard part was leaving.
