Na Fianna Mini Leagues 2015

Na Fianna’s 2015 Mini-Leagues enjoyed a fabulous week of sunshine. Anyone travelling on Mobhi Road after 6pm any day this week couldn’t help but be impressed with the huge numbers taking part in football and hurling and enjoying the glorious weather that the week provided. More action again tomorrow morning (Sat 13th June) from 9.30am.

Na Fianna Nuacht Scoil Mobhi Victorious at Croke Park Congratulations to Scoil Mobhi on their fine win in the Cumann na mBunscol hurling finals at Croke Park last Monday. The game was keenly contested where team mates became rivals in the local derby against Scoil an Tseachtar Laoch. The Scoil Mobhi team included a majority of members from Na Fianna u12 and u13 teams while Scoil an Tseachtar Laoch also consisted of members from the same Club teams.

After a close first half there was little between the the teams at half time with Scoil an Tseachtar Laoch leading by two points. With the benefit of the breeze in the second half Scoil Mobhi put on a fine display of defensive and attacking hurling to secure a comfortable win in the the end. Well done to Scoil Mobhi and hard luck to Scoil an Tseachtar Laoch.

Corpus Christi Annual Fun Day Annual Fun Day takes place this Sunday 14 June 2015 on the grounds of Corpus Christi GNS from 1pm – 4pm. There will be bouncy castles, spin & win, pluck a duck, football shoot out, refreshments and much more! All are welcome.

Na Fianna Nuacht Junior C Footballers’ Sponsorship Na Fianna's Junior C football team are in their third year in Division 8 following promotion from Division 9. They have consolidated their status in Division 8 with two mid-table finishes. This year Na Fianna are building momentum nicely after a few narrow defeats in the early stages. A lot of the younger players are becoming acclimatised to the rigour of adult football. With confidence building as the season progresses, they are aiming for the promotion playoff places.

The team provides an important facility for the Na Fianna club as an adult football apprenticeship for players emerging from the minor ranks; as a step down in intensity for players who have done their time in the higher ranks and as a safety net to catch late bloomers who'd otherwise be lost to the club.

Na Fianna Nuacht Golf Society Outing A beautiful day was in store for the members of the Na Fianna Golf Society outing to Laytown & Bettystown last Monday. This was a first visit to this club by the Society .Overall winner on the day was Stephen Gray with Class prizes won by Tom Foran, Ciaran Gray and Noel Foran.

The Society which has been in existence for 40 years is open to new members and we look forward to seeing you at our Captains Outing in August in Black Bush, details nearer the time. Thanks to all who took part last Monday.

Poc Fada 2015 This year's Dublin Gaa Poc Fada competition will be held on the Hill of Howth on Thursday evening 18th June. Meet at Beann Eadair Club. The Dublin winner will go on to Leinster Poc Fada competition with the provincial champion going forward to the All Ireland Poc Fada competition on Annaverna Mountain (in the Cooley mountins), Ravensdale, Co Louth on Saturday 8 August at 11am. Na Fianna’s Dubs Congrats to Dublin’s U-21 Ladies Footballers on their Championship semi-final win over Cork last weekend. For a second year in a row, Dublin will now contest the Aisling McGing U21 All Ireland final. Reigning champions Dublin sealed their place in this year’s final following a convincing 16 point victory over Cork, final score Dublin 3-17 Cork 0-10. Glór na nGael would like to invite you to attend a language planning workshop with qualified language planner, Colm Ó Cinnseala on Saturday, 22nd June from 10am - 1pm.

This workshop is directed towards Irish language and Cultural Officers from existing GAA clubs and any other members who are interested and passionate about the promotion and development of the Irish language within their club.

School Holidays With the post-primary school holidays just begun, Parents and Guardians are reminded that Na Fianna does not purport to offer supervision to children who are on the club premises or grounds outside of training or match times. In addition, Juveniles are asked not to bring nonmembers into the club grounds. This notice is also printed on membership form. Parents should also note that children should not under any circumstances enter the club buildings during the day as the premises are unoccupied and unsupervised. Membership card access to club facilities is being monitored and any obvious pattern of mis-use will result in access services to individual membership cards being withdrawn.
