Introductions Teacher “Gifts of Kindness” Initiative - Jessica W. o Our first session is tomorrow presented by Karin Weinstein with Chair Yoga at 8am o Desiree is interested in possibly hosting a session on December 10th, but needs to check her calendar. o Jill is able to do a session on January 14th with a focus on New Year’s Resolutions and Healthy options. o Other dates that we are hoping to fill are: February 11h, March 11th and April? If anyone is interested in hosting a session that you feel would be appropriate for the teachers, please let us know. Garden Club Wrap-up – Samantha C. and Jamie N. o Ended up with close to 90 children by the end of the program. o Great job to Samantha and Jamie on leading this group in October! o Looking to start again on Tuesdays in May o Hoping to do a kick-off program on Earth Day on April 22nd 5th Grade Student Ambassadors – Michelle H. o Michelle has pictures from Family Fun Night that will be available soon! o Meeting weekly with Ambassadors

They are making the morning announcements, and they are helping with Turkey Trot by creating posters and a cheer to get the school motivated o They are also hoping to create a Puppet Show for grades K-3. o They are doing a great job, and are very enthusiastic! Great job, Michelle! Turkey Trot Pennant Sale – Jessica W. o We have a total of 116 pennants that will be displayed next Tuesday at the Turkey Trot o Jennifer and Christina will be meeting at 7:45am to display them along with the student ambassadors. o We are also purchasing water for the 4th and 5th grade runners from the Wellness Council that Michelle will bring to the school on Monday. o Mrs. Banks is still in need of more parent volunteers during the Turkey Trot, especially along the 1-mile run route. Smoothie Sales – Jessica W. o Next Smoothie Sale is December 12th o If you know you can help that morning, save the date and be ready for an email to come looking for volunteers. Healthy U update – Elaine G. & Mary B. o The Newsletter went home to parents titled “Join Us IN Making Our school a Healthy “CATCH” School”. o Teachers are also involved in showing the children how they are a Catch MVP. o Equipment provided for the program includes Go, Slow, and Whoa wording to continue the message with the children during their activities. Parent/Teacher Conference Night Wellness Campaign – Jessica W. o Ms. Banks provided and explained the campaign the teachers will be doing with the children in the classroom titled “My Family Is Catena Catch MVP”. o Children will fill out the cards with their teachers and it will be displayed in January at Parent/Teacher Conference night. CATENA STRONG Running Club & Fun Run - Amy K. & Mary B. o Running Club will begin in February, probably the week of the 16th o We will not have the cafeteria during the February sessions due to the play. o Options discussed were to include mornings (Jill and Michelle are willing to coordinate mornings); and possibly 2 different afternoons base on grade. o Jennifer and Amy will discuss these details and we can discuss further in December.

Ms. Banks is willing to provide equipment, however, she wants a list in advance so that she can have everything organized for the groups. Freehold Mayor’s Wellness Campaign (February Fitness Challenge) – Jill S. o The February Fitness Challenge will be part of the Freehold Mayor’s Campaign and will be initiated by the Physical Education teachers this year. o February Fitness Challenge is when each child documents the number of minutes of physical activity they participate in on a daily basis. It is recorded and then submitted to the school. Someone will be recording these submissions and tabulate the results of how many minutes each school is being active. o All schools district-wide will participate, however it will not be a competitive challenge between the schools. We are just hoping to have every child participate. o Other programs are being discussed and Jill will have more information in the future. Thank you, Jill!
