F&F Unit 4: Cause and Effect (October 12th - Nov. 4th) Today we began our fourth Foundations and Frameworks Unit, Unit 4: Cause and Effect. Students will read the novel Because of Winn Dixie. New pattern statements, process questions, visual tools, and vocabulary words have been placed in your child’s reading binder. You may also scan the QR code below to download this information. It would greatly benefit your child to practice this information each night. Please contact your child’s teacher with any questions that you might have. Unit 4’s Assessments will be taken on the following dates: October 30th will be the Unit 4 Vocabulary Test November 3rd will be the Unit 4 Performance Task November 4th will be the Unit 4 Skills Knowledge Please encourage or help your child study the vocabulary words, pattern statement, and process questions each night.
Our field trip is Monday, November 2nd. Chaperones please be in the classrooms no later than 8:45. Bring money for the gift shop. No SNACKS on the bus! Wear your blue EDEN ROCKS shirt. Please stay informed and dress for the weather. Tennis shoes are required. A Subway lunch was included in the price. You may bring handheld games, but you are responsible for them.
Please sign and return your child’s report card as soon as you can. If you need a copy of it just let us know.
Book Character Dress Up Day & Fall Festival On Friday, October 30th, students may dress up as their favorite book character. We will have a school wide parade around 8:15. Costumes must meet dress code. Please nothing scary! Our Fall Festival will also be on this day, during hour PE. If you would like to help please return the volunteer form or contact the PTO.
The Pell City Homecoming Pep Rally is Friday, October 23rd. Permission forms are required. If your child chooses not to go then he or she will stay in the library.
