Physics 12 Major Project In groups of 2-4 you will be responsible for creating a 40 minute lesson on one of the topics listed below: Modern Physics Quantum Theory Wave-Particle Duality Models of the Atom
Nuclear Physics The Nucleus Radioactive Decay Artificial Radioactivity
Mr. Warren will provide you with a set of notes on your topic to help you get familiar with the concepts. Of course, a major requirement is that you seek out extra resources (YouTube, textbooks, etc.) to help you grasp the material. Evaluation Scheme 10%--Pre-activity You will be provided with six periods (May 16, 17, 29, 30, 31; June 1 ) to meet with your partners to prepare anyhow you wish. If you miss one of these classes evidence will have to be provided showing that you completed additional work to support your group. Expect to spend time outside of class time working on this project! 55%--Presentation You will be responsible for teaching the material (using videos, PowerPoint, etc.) for the first 20 minutes of the lesson. The remaining 20 minutes will be devoted to students completing a worksheet you created and correcting it. Students will have extra time at the end of all the presentations to finish worksheet questions. You will need to have a neat answer key to pass out to each student at the end of class along with any other resources (PowerPoint, etc.) you feel will be helpful in preparing for their test and final examination. 15%--Post-activity Please prepare eight multiple choice questions and three extended responses questions that can be used for an assessment. You must also include the workings for all questions, including multiple choice calculations. 10%--Partner evaluation Your partners will evaluate your contributions to the project and it will be reflected in your overall mark. 10%--Student evaluation Your students will evaluate your knowledge of the concepts taught and how well prepared they felt you were for your presentation.
