2015-2016 YEAR END WRAP UP
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Hello Hooksett PTA Members, As I write this message, we are three weeks into our summer vacation. Plans are already underway for the 2016-2017 school year - it will be here before you know it! The 2015 – 2016 school year was a successful one for the PTA, and I cannot believe how quickly it went by. I would like to take this time to thank my PTA Board for all of their hard work that went into this year! I truly appreciate it – you are all amazing individuals and I have been lucky to work alongside you to make a difference in the lives of not only the students of Underhill and Memorial, but also our staff, PTA families and the Hooksett Community! The report that you are about to read, showcases our year - the programs we supported; how we fundraised and where that money went; our PTA events; as well as our accomplishments for the year. In addition to these items, the most important thing it showcases is our volunteers! Without volunteers the PTA would not be able to provide any of this! You have heard the phrase “It takes a village to raise a child,” well the same could be said in regards to a PTA, “It takes a village to run a successful PTA”. Being part of this “village” does not mean you have to volunteer hundreds of hours of your time. For some it may mean they help financially by signing up at the beginning of the school year and become “card carrying PTA members”, for others it means becoming part of the Board or chairing an event, and for some it means volunteering your time working on a project that can be completed at home, in your spare time. All of these volunteers contribute equally to the PTA’s success and are all important. So I ask, as you read this report, please consider volunteering during the 2016 – 2017 school year. You won’t regret it – the smiles on the student’s faces make it worth it! Thank you and happy summer! Jennifer Marasco Hooksett PTA President
