. //2il You may kindly appreciatefiom the facts Vide Para 2 above that the Satetl.'Reiated RetirementScheme(SRRS)is not meantto give concession to anyone. The schemeallou'ssaferl' staff to retire rvhen they feel that they are no longer capabieto perform duties rrer,r'efficientlr' and on retilement, their: wards to be inducted vice them in recruitment gtadepay, so that young blood will be able to perform well and contribute for safetyand efficiency. As the Hon'ble High Court of Punjab & Haryanahas directedthe respondentRail'*'a)'sto revisit the said policy keeping the priaciple of equal opportunity in public employrnent, the Railway Board have issued order vide letter dated 27110/2017to stop inpiementation of LARSGESS on all the Zonal Railways. NFIR however, expresses its surprise and disappoinment ever Board's order dated 27/10/2An to stop implementationof the schemeon other Zonal Railways also even though Court's direction is at the best applicableto the Northem Raiiway jurisdiction. NFIR views that the Railway Board's decision dated27/10/2017 is an excessiveaction, inviting resentment aad agitation from Railway employeesin general and those --befonging io safety Categoriesin fiartiCularlWfile#iloie-thai lCtion to file SLP in the Apex Court is on hand, we are unable to apprreciateRailway Board's instructions to the General Managers of other Zonal Railways to suspend implementation of LARSGESS. Federation therefore seeks your kind intervention to get Board's decisioa dated 27/1012017modified appropriately, to facilitate GMs of other Zonal Railwayi to continue to implement the LARSGESS. i Incidentally, NFIR brings to your kind notice that due to certain decisionsof CRB in the recent fwo months period, morale of the staff in general and safety'staff in particular got enhanced, but sadly, the stoppageof the implementationof LARSGESS on the entire Indian Railways has been causing demoralization effect on staff. Federationhopes that you would kindly take note of this avoidablesituation for making appropriatecoursecorection imrriediatel5' so that the LARSGESS is continued on remaining Zonal Railways. Federationhopes that the Railway Board at the same time handles the case successfully in the Supreme Court for continuanceof "LARSGESS". Federation also requeststo kindly convey the hurt feelings of staff to Hon'ble Railwav Mnister before it is too late. Yours faith
