I am a civic engagement leader who draws on my fine arts studio practice and background in nonprofit leadership to research, develop and implement free arts programming in collaboration with community organizations on the south side of Chicago. I use autoethnography as a qualitative research method to reflect, write and systematically analyze personal experiences in order to understand cultural phenomena and interpret the ways in which they inform teaching and learning experiences in the context of both the process and product.
