WELCOME We would like to extend an invitation for you to take part in the variety of activities and services offered through River Valley Project Explore, a Community Education program serving adults with disabilities. The information provided here should give you a closer look and better understanding of how our program works and where to acquire additional information that you may need. For 27 years, Project Explore has been a leader in providing options for adults with disabilities to participate in activities that are specifically designed to meet their diverse needs.

FROM THE DESK OF THE COORDINATOR We’ve had a great start to the fall with classes being well attended and enjoyed! Our third annual Craft Fair was a big success with about 45 vendors participating. A huge thankyou to Caroline Gettz and Andrea Revier for all of the time, energy and enthusiasm they give to organizing this event! It’s been so popular that they’ve planned another Craft Fair for the spring, so save the date of April 28th. The RVPE Foundation held its ninth annual Bowl-A-Thon on October 21st at Apple Place Bowl and it was a great success. Lots of pledges were gathered by bowlers and raffle tickets were purchased. The Foundation does a wonderful job of raising dollars to support our program and provide scholarships to those needing financial assistance which helps pay for our activities. The Foundation is looking for new members. If you are interested please let me know. As we look ahead to winter we’ve tried to schedule a variety of classes and events so you’ll have many opportunities to celebrate the holidays together with friends and family. We have Christmas movies, crafts, a holiday dinner, holiday singa-long, baking holiday cookies, our Christmas dance, and a couple of shows. These activities fill up quickly, so make sure to register early. In the 2018 you’ll find a couple of new classes that we hope you’ll try and enjoy. We’re always looking for new ideas for activities and ways we can improve what we do. If you have any ideas please send me an email or give me a call. I appreciate your suggestions. If you or someone you know would like to teach a class or volunteer, please ask them to call the office.

“I believe I get more out of volunteering with Project Explore than the individuals that I am helping.” – Project Explore Volunteer 2

We love our Volunteers!

Project Explore Volunteers are Very Valuable. Through the generosity of volunteers we are able to keep our class and activity fees low allowing individuals to participate in more activities. Project Explore is always looking for volunteers to help with activities. If you, your group or organization would like to volunteer please let us know. You can send us an email – [email protected] – or call Debbie at our office, 651-423-7931.
