RULES AND REGULATIONS
According to SDUHSD Board policy, all students must attend a CHP Start Smart class in order to be eligible to purchase a parking permit. (Visit http://www2.sduhsd.net/cc/documents/Start%20Smart.PDF for more info.) th th th th Canyon Crest Academy is a closed campus for 9 , 10 and 11 grade students. It is an open campus for 12 grade students in possession of a current CCA I.D. card. Drivers and all passengers must be in possession of a current student ID Card and an Off Campus Pass when leaving campus. Students under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or other person specified by law when transporting passengers under 20 years of age at any time for the first 12 months after obtaining a driver’s license. Students may not loiter in vehicles or parking lot at break or lunch. Students may park ONLY in marked stalls in the Student Parking Lot. Students may not park in the Visitor's Lot, Staff Lots, or in areas marked RED, HANDICAPPED or RESERVED. Parking permits MUST BE AFFIXED TO FRONT WINDSHIELD, LOWER LEFT CORNER, DRIVER'S SIDE. Maximum speed limit on school property is 15 m.p.h. Vehicles parked on campus are subject to search. Parking permits are not transferable between vehicles or students. Students who purchase a new vehicle or have a windshield replaced must return the original parking sticker in order to purchase a replacement sticker. nd Cost per sticker is $40/full school year, $25/2 semester, $15/final quarter. Neither SDUHSD nor CCA is responsible for any damage or loss to a vehicle or personal property.
Violation of the above regulations, reckless driving, speeding, etc., may result in suspension of parking privileges, receiving a citation from the San Diego Police Department, and/or actions in accordance with the school disciplinary policy. Students MUST have completed the “Start Smart” safe driving program and be on the SDUHSD official completion list in order to purchase a parking permit. Cost: $40 = annual pass ($25 = only after 2nd semester begins). Purchase of a parking permit does not guarantee a parking space. Parking permits sold ONLY to juniors and seniors. All other students must park off campus, no exceptions. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Students must arrive early to school to ensure an opportunity to park on campus. Students who do not have parking permits may park along appropriate areas on Calle Acervo, Camino de los Coches or at Stagecoach Park. Please do not park on nearby residential streets. Parents are encouraged to form car pools to reduce traffic congestion. Students who purchase a new vehicle or have a windshield replaced must return the original parking sticker in order to receive a replacement sticker for the new vehicle (at no charge). Park ONLY in marked spaces in the Student Parking Lot. DO NOT park in the Visitor’s Lot, Staff Lots (front and back), or in areas marked RED, HANDICAPPED or RESERVED. Students who do not have valid permits and park on campus will be ticketed. Continued offenses will lead to suspension for defiance of school rules. Students may not loiter in their vehicles or in the parking lot at break or lunch. Parking permits MUST BE AFFIXED to FRONT WINDSHIELD, LOWER LEFT CORNER, on DRIVER’S SIDE. Parking permits are not transferable between vehicles or students. Staff member will apply sticker to car only. Maximum speed limit on school property is 15 m.p.h. Please observe all posted traffic signs, laws and speed limits when leaving school property. Drivers and any passengers must always have a student ID card to leave during lunch or free periods. Any seniors chronically tardy to class may lose senior lunch privileges. Vehicles parked on campus are subject to search. SDUHSD and LCCHS are not responsible for any damage or loss to the vehicle or personal property. Students may not drive on campus unless it is during non-school hours and with an Advisor or Administrator’s advance approval only. Violation of the above regulations, reckless driving, speeding, etc., may result in suspension of parking privileges and/or receiving a citation from the Carlsbad Police Department. Vehicles parked illegally may be towed at owner’s expense. Carlsbad Police parking citation challenges are to be made per instructions on the back of the citation. Students on the “Loss of Privilege” (LOP) list, are subject to having their parking lot permit revoked without refund.
