Students Leaving For the safety of our students, parents are required to check their students out in the office or at CLC. In order to minimize classroom disruption, we ask that parents/ visitors wait for the child by the office and not go directly to the classroom. Please do not call to request your child to wait by the door or come to your vehicle.

Girls 4-5 Grade Volleyball The Minot Recreation Commission is once again sponsoring the 4th & 5th grade girl’s volleyball program. The season begin in early October and will run five weeks. Games will generally be played at the Auditorium between 3:45 and 8:15 pm on Mondays and Thursdays. Information was sent home with the girls. If you are willing to coach, contact Mr. Carlson.

If your child needs to take medication during the school day, a medication sheet must be filled out for each medication your child is taking.. All medications must be supplied in the original or prescription container. All medications must be kept in the Health Office. A doctor’s signature is required for prescriptions but not over the counter medicines. Medication will not be given to students without written permission from a parent/guardian. Please do not send medication to school in baggies or envelopes; it will be discarded. These guidelines are for the safety and protection of all the students. Medications especially controlled substances must be brought in by adults only. Flu Shots In order to keep our kids healthy, the First District Unit will be offering Flu shots again this year. Please keep an eye out for the consent form that will be coming home. These forms cneed to be returned by September 15th. Pre- registration is required.

Arrival and Dismissal Student supervision and safety is very important to the staff at Washington. Students arriving too early or staying after dismissal often encounter a variety of problems. We ask that everyone consider these guidelines when bringing your child to school. School hours are as follows: 7:00 - Morning CLC 8:00-8:30 - Breakfast 8:37 - First Bell 3:00 - Dismissal Students are expected to arrive no earlier than 8:30 unless they are participating in the breakfast program or CLC. CLC opens the doors at 7:00 for their program. If you are not in CLC, the earliest the students may enter the building is 8:00 AM. If students who are not in CLC arrive between the times of 8:00 and 8:30, they will be expected to eat breakfast. This is our way of tracking students and keeping them safe. They will be either entered into our system on the hot lunch program or CLC. If your child has already eaten breakfast and they arrive early we will have them wait outside the commons by the new office entrance until 8:37. Dismissal: Students will be excused at 3:00 pm. Students will come out to parents at the front doors. Students in CLC will go directly to CLC. Please make a plan with your child on where you will meet for a after school pickup. All students are expected to leave the school grounds immediately following our 3:00 dismissal unless they are enrolled in CLC. CLC Pickup: CLC will buzz parents in through the second set of doors to sign out your child.
