The Storm Festival Weekend is a fantastic opportunity for everyone living on the peninsula as well as visitors, to enjoy the Delights and Experiences of our Magnificent Dingle Peninsula in the Wilds of Winter

Saturday 3rd / Satharn 3ú STORM LOCATIONS TOUR – LAND SHAPED BY THE ATLANTIC 10am – 1.30pm (Booking essential at (087) 250 4767 – ring or text to guarantee your seat) Pick-up at Dingle Marina Car Park from 9.45am. Relax as you take a whirlwind tour of some of the stormiest locations on the peninsula. Our guide will tell you tales of great storms and forces that shaped our beloved land. Listen well as they point out the best places to capture great storm photographs. Author of The Land and People of Maharees and Castlegregory: A History 1560–1960, Martin will point out all of the Shipwrecks on the east side of Maharees. Meeting Point at Sandy Bay Car Park. THE GREAT BLASKET STORY 11.00am – 3.00pm Dún Chaoin Visit The Blasket Centre to learn a little more of the incredible lives of the Blasket Islanders. SEA SHANTIES & STORIES AT JOHN BENNY’S PUB 5.00pm - 6.00pm Dingle Traditional maritime work songs and sea stories told by some swarthy “courageous” locals in John Benny’s Pub warm pier side setting! All singers welcome and there might be a surprise singer or two! Sunday 4th / Domhnach 4ú GLENS TO CLOGHANE WALK 10.00am Glens to Cloghane Join Dingle Walking Club outside Garvey’s SuperValu in Dingle. Travel by car to Glens and then enjoy this magnificent walk on the slopes of Mount Brandon to Cloghane village. Take in the views of Skellig Mhichíl and the Cloghane Lakes. (Suitable walking gear and boots required.) STORM FESTIVAL ART/PHOTO EXHIBITION 10.00am-2.00pm Club Rooms, Castlegregory THE SUNDAY ROAST AT DINGLE COOKERY SCHOOL 11.00am – 3.30pm The ultimate Storm Dinner The Sunday Roast! [email protected] STORM CHASERS TREASURE HUNT 12.00 – 1.30pm Clues can be collected from – Dingle Oceanworld, Dingle and Castlegregory Club Rooms A car-based treasure hunt that brings you to new locations around the peninsula. Full of Discovery, blustery clues and windy tales. A great way to explore new and “old” things on the Dingle Peninsula. Divided into three routes. Enjoy one or conquer them all!

SLEA HEAD DRIVE & BRANDON CREEK STORM CHASE THE CONOR PASS & DINGLE PENINSULA’S GOLD COAST STORM CHASE THE SLIEVE MISH STORM CHASE
Note – this is not a race so take your time and savour the scenery and experiences of the peninsula! The Clues for all 3 Storm Chasers can be collected from all registration points. The Winning Prize is a 10 Visit Pass to the Dingle Skellig Leisure Club and one yearly Pass to Dingle Oceanworld. An additional €100 will be given to your nominated primary school on the Dingle Peninsula STORM WALK, CAMP 1.30pm Camp Starting at O’Dwyer’s Mace Shop in Camp and join Camp Walking Club up to the Dingle Way, across The Finglas river with views of Curra Dubh Bridge, scene of the horrific crash in 1893, and onto Killelton 6th Century Oratory. The trail will come back down Knockglossmore, back up to Camp or finish at The Junction. This walk is very historic and also very scenic. Stories of storms in this area abound locally and of course, it is on the slopes of Sliabh Mish and in the shadows of Cathair Con Rí
