On Indian Railways, the category of Dresser/OT Assistant, Dental Mechanics etc., are functioning and providing service to the patients.In the light of Pay Commission'srecommendationsfor upgradationof GradePay to higher Grade Pay and acceptanceof the said recommendationby the Ministry of Financevide notification dated 25* July 2016, the Railway Ministry has to take further action for granting upgradationto the staff of above categoriesto higher Grade Pay (6* CPC) and thereafterthey are required to be placed in the correspondingPay Matrix of the 7ft CPC. A specific case of Dresser is cited as an example for appreciation.The entry Grade Pay of Dresserin Railways is Rs. 1900/-.The said GradePayhas beenupgradedto GP 20001-vide MoF's notification dated25frJuly, 2016. They are thereforeentitled to be placed in GP 2000/- with pay fixation benefit and thereafterthey are required to be placed in kvel 3 of 7h CPC Pay Matrix. NFIR, therefore, urges upon the Railway Board to issue orders granting upgradation as proposed above in the case of Dressers and see that the consequentialbenefits are extendedto them with retrospectiveeffect i.e. January I,2016. Similarly, other para-medicalcategorieslisted above shouldalso be grantedupgradationas already approvedby the Ministry of Finance.
