WEDNESDAY NEWS Issue No.62# April 7 to May 4, 2016 Events/Talks/Seminars/Conferences Activity by Robotics club As part of Robotic club activities VAST-TC, Kilimanoor conducted "ROBOTICS - An Interactive Session" on 10/4/2016. Chief resource person was Mr. Gopan B Chandran, a Trainer in this field. Topics covered were on robotic arm, Raspberry Pi, Arduino operations and path following robot. The event was coordinated by staff in charge of Robotic club, Mr. Rahul S. Student members of the robotic club participated in this activity. It created an overwhelming response from the students.

College Arts On 26th May 2016, college day celebrations were organized by Students senate, were conducted. Cine artist Ms Anusree was the chief guest. The inaugural function was held by 10.00 am. Student’s senate Chairman, Mr. Ananthu B Nair of S6 ME welcomed all to the event. Principal Dr. V. Ajayakumar delivered the presidential address. The General Secretary Mr. Harikrishnan R S of S6 ECE, presented the Union report. Faculty coordinators Mr. Prince O M and Ms Maghy gave felicitations. The inaugural ceremony concluded by vote of thanks by Vice chairman, Ms Heera Sathyan. The cultural programs started by 10.30 am. The university level winners showcased their talents in the events. More than 15 different events were exhibited. The students from all branches and all years participated to make this event a grant success. In the concluding ceremony, Academic Director Dr. B. Anil addressed the students emphasising the importance of extracurricular activities and co-curricular activities along with their academics. The university level winners, national level winners and sports day winners were honoured. The CGP co-coordinators of the year 2015 were also honoured in the event.

Certificate distribution for faculty on completion of Numerical Methods course Faculty members who had done the Numerical methods course under Dr. Gangan Prathap were distributed certificates for their achievement at the Board Room on 4th May, 2016. Project Director Er. R Devarajan, Research Director Dr. Gangan Prathap, Academic director Dr. B. Anil, Principal Dr. V. Ajayakumar and concerned faculty members were present for the function. The following members completed the course successfully; Ms. Ammu Kripalal (ECE), Mr. Avinash. G. S (ME), Mr. Balu Ramabhadran (ECE), Mr. Jithin Prem (CE), Ms. Karthika. E. T (EEE), Mr. Prince. O. M (ME) and Ms. Tina (CE) Career Guidance Program 2016 VAST, Kilimanoor conducted career guidance programs for the general public to provide information of recent trends in engineering and methodology used for applying for B.Tech courses at Varkala, Attingal and Kadaikkal. Special resource persons dealt sessions with parents and XII school students. Future programs are planned at Kilimanoor and Anchal.
