There will be a Grief Group for those students who are struggling with loss on Thursday, March 8th at lunch. The group plans to meet each Thursday through the months of March and April. We will meet in Room 14 (the choir room). Students should bring their lunch. The group will be facilitated by Tatiana and is part of Sarina Bray's Senior Project. The purpose is to assist students and support them in "getting through" and coping with the loss of a loved one or any other type of loss which is causing extreme stress. Harley Williams is organizing and overseeing an Open Gym Basketball League at Weed High School. Along with his mentor, Head Basketball Coach, Robert West, Harley is facilitating this league which will run from March 12-April 21st. Participation requires at least 4 players and not more than 8 to a team. Teams will be organized into a league, with a championship tournament being held at the end of league play. Cost for participation is $10 dollars per player. The first meeting/open gym will be held on Monday March 12th. All proceeds from the tournament will be used to fund the basketball programs at Weed High School. Participating players in the league need to be 9th-12th graders. Boys Basketball Players: Time to turn in your basketball uniforms. Coach West will be on campus Tuesday from 3:00 to 3:30 to collect them.
SPRING BREAK GAMING EVENT !!! Oregon Institute of Technology is hosting a gaming event Thursday March 29th – Sat. March 31st. “Spring Break GG”. They are expecting 250 to 500 gamers from a number of high schools and universities to participate. There will be a live DJ throughout the event. Tournaments will be hosted for Overwatch, League of Legends, Rocket League, Dota 2, Counterstrike GO, Super Smash Bros, Hearthstone, Starcraft II, and more with over $1,500 in prizes available.
