The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum - Weston, West Virginia. By: Samantha Vacanti.

If one is going to believe that any location can be haunted, a gigantic, gothic stone structure that served as one of our nation's most notorious insane asylums for more than a century would be a highly appropriate candidate. A

Vol. 2 Issue 3 perfect contender that fits the bill is the castle-like structure known as the TransAllegheny Lunatic Asylum of Weston, West Virginia. Many believe it is the most haunted structure in America today. Construction on the TransAllegheny began in 1858 near the then small-town of Weston and was completed in 1881, with some disruptions delaying the work caused by the Civil War. Most of the early work was done by prison labor. Before there were formal asylums for the mentally ill, these unfortunate people were housed in prisons, county jails, dark basements or dismal public poorhouses. Even though facilities such as this were to usher in a new, more modern era for treatment of the insane, treatment methods and living conditions of more than a 100 years ago were often brutal, cruel, even monstrous and depraved. A number of shockingly barbaric treatments would come and go including a crude form of electroshock therapy, lobotomies (crude brain surgeries) and bizarre chemical treatments. The Trans-Allegheny Asylum was designed for 250 patients, but eventually a dreadful 2,400 souls were jammed into the filthy, crowded conditions of this unhappy place. From the very beginning, hints of the paranormal activity surrounded the establishment of Trans-Allegheny. For example, its grounds consisted of 666 acres - 666, the famous Biblical mark of the Beast. Over the years there were many incidents of deranged patients killing other patients. An occasional asylum worker was also murdered. Many female workers were raped. In one

case, a nurse mysteriously went missing while on duty in the asylum. Her rotting body was found two months later at the bottom of a stairwell in an obscure corner of the building. After a few decades of operation, reports of hauntings and the sounds of the restless souls of the miserable undead became commonplace. Some workers lasted only a few days after hearing inexplicable noises, such as the squeaky wheels of gurney's rolling along a tiled hallway. Also common are throaty moans and bone-chilling hysterical laughter - all emanating from rooms or floors that were otherwise empty of any living soul. One time a "ghost" even seemed to follow a medical personnel to her home off and away from asylum grounds. In this case, a female psychiatrist had been treating a patient who committing suicide. Apparitions of this deceased, troubled soul began appearing in the doctor's home - and even moved from home to home with her - and she claims the spirit still troubles her today. The number of apparitions spotted in the vast confines of Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum are too numerous to mention. Those that have sighted them include doctors, management's personnel, nurses, aides, orderlies and even janitors. By the time the facility closed in the 1990s, its reputation as a heavily haunted location became common knowledge in the local West Virginia community. Crazy mad man By: Adrian Hernandez. Ted Bundy was a crazy mad man. He took dated girls and took them and killed them. He looked innocent. But when he went to kill them he killed them in the coldest way. He always got the girls.

Vol. 2 Issue 3 One day he looked like he had a broken leg. Asked a girl to help him. and when she went to the car he knocked her out and put her in his car. When she's wakes up in the car she thinks she’s drunk from coming form a party. Ted Bundy has been doing this for more than 10 years and have not been caught. He was never caught because he was good at hiding the body's. he hides them where no one looks. now ted is in jail. he is going to be in jail for the rest of his life. we don’t need to care for him anymore.

The Villisca Axe Murders By: Charley Clapp

I'm sure since we all live in Iowa that you’ve heard of the Villisca Axe Murder House. This house rose to fame in June of 1912 when an unknown murderer entered a house that held eight people, four adults and six children. The house still stands today in Villisca Iowa & has since become a tourist attraction. The murderer, (who has not been identified and is probably deceased by now), was not merciful in his actions. He

apparently hid in the family's attic, coming back down when he knew that the family had all fallen asleep, he murdered the family and the two guests mercilessly, giving each of them multiple devastating blows with the axe, (which was their father's wood chopping axe) each of the eight people in the house died and with them went the mysteries answers leaving the case of the Villisca Axe Murder still unsolved today. The house since has been re-bought and is a major tourist attraction. You can pay money to tour the house and even stay the night inside the house! Some have said many things happen inside the house, a baby's ball bouncing, doors slamming and some even report hearing screaming late at night. The barn does not stand anymore, the new owners chopped it down. Overall, the house still stands today and is actually doing very well, if you ever get the chance to, i'd definitely stop by and maybe even stay the night if you can.

Annabelle By:Shelby Renshaw

Vol. 2 Issue 3 they movie this girl collects dolls and her husband got her they one she’s been wanting, the doll is haunted and when people got it bad things happen to them. At first her house almost caught on fire she also almost killed her baby because of the doll tricked her. They get ride of the doll by a friend that she meet jumps out of the building with they doll and dies. If you have not watched it you should. I like this movie because it is scary and based on a true story, but It creeps me out that a doll does all these bad things. Also I don't like when she leaves a note that says miss me. There are 2 movies that go together about the doll: The Conjuring and Annabelle. I think a lot of people would like this movie but some people will be sacred of this. This is one of my favorite scary movies because it's with the conjuring and I like things that are based on a true story because it's real so you don't have to worry about it being fake and not being scared. Knowing this is based on a true story the original people which had Annabelle the Warrens (Paranormal investigators) new when they seen the doll it had a demon hooked to it. It wanted Donnas soul. The priest did actually got in a car accident because he told the doll “you're just a doll you can't hurt anyone.” His brakes went out he did survive. They built a case to put the doll in and it doesn’t move but it's waiting there so it can be free again one day. I think that if you want to watch a scary movie you should watch this one.

This movie is based on a true story, it’s about a doll witch haunted people. In

Vol. 2 Issue 3 Haunted House Reviews Scary Acres By: Hope Garcia

The history of Scary Acres Scary Acres opened its gates in 2002. However its history in Omaha goes way back to the year 1993 and began with the Train of Terror at Peony Park on Cass St. The Scary Acres Management team was commissioned to run a Halloween Attraction within the Peony Amusement Park. The Train of Terror circled the park amidst fog and spider webs. Monsters were hiding in the dark along the entire trail and in the tunnel ready to frighten unaware train passengers. Scary props were situated in concession booths and near the few rides that were open that fall. However that was the last year that Peony Park was in operation. And then… “Fright Zone”, a state of the art haunt in Millard Plaza was born. A closed down health club was turned into a frightening adventure in Omaha showcasing such things as: live snakes in a crawl through tunnel, an indoor “outdoor graveyard”, and a killer clown hallway. During this time the Scary Acres management team began building their own animatronics that they showcased at various tradeshows and sold to other haunted houses around the country

. This year (2015) Scary Acres was not as Scary as it was the time before because I went with 6 other people. Scary Acres was so packed and honestly “The Masters Castle” wasn’t as scary as people say it was because I couldn’t pay any attention to the Haunted House. Everybody was pushing me so I had to focus on walking and not falling into the people in front of me. The “House On The Hill” was really scary at the end because the chain Saw scared my friends behind me. I didn’t know why they were scared cause I was almost out of the doorway and they started to push me and I got scared so I started to run and I tripped and fell on the ground.

Mystery Manor By: Ally Wright Mystery Manor was built in 1887 and is located on 716 n 18th street. All through October it is open, and only on Friday and Saturdays in November. To get into Mystery Manor it is $12 for one person, and if you wanted to get into the very beginning of the line it is $20. This house was once owned by a husband and wife Greta Hall and Williams Hall. Williams chopped his wife up into pieces, and one week later after that Greta's brother murdered William with the same ax! The night after that, Greta's brothers body was found at the grave site with the ax stuck in his skull. It is known that William roams the halls every night of October, waiting for strangers to come so he can continue his horrible revenge of anyone who enters his home. The sight of the outside looks like it was built sometime in the 1920’s, and when you pull up there is usually all kinds of clowns doing dangerous acts. Some clowns will even chase you into the street if a car is coming or not, and some play with fire in their mouth while others just get up in peoples faces. Wayne Seeley the owner will tell you about what happened 80 years ago, and then leads you up creaky stairs. There are old pictures in the halls, and down the hall there are creepy figures crawling on the ground. There is a room called a slaughterhouse where they are not scared to get close to you and up in your face. There are fog machines, people always popping out, creaky staircases, slides where you least expect, and strobe lights. I went to Mystery Manor 4 years ago when I was 11, and since I was younger it really scared me. It bothered me when you're in line and clowns with

Vol. 2 Issue 3 axes and chainsaws would come up to you and mess with you, or when they just stare and turn on the chainsaw. When I was in line listening to the rules and the history of it, it gave me goose bumps and I almost wanted to turn around but I didn’t! When I was in the living room when you first walk in the lights would all go off and a guy was there breathing in your face whispering about how you won’t make it out alive. Then you walk through hallways with no space, and they make you go single file. People pop out where you least expect them to, and when I showed them I was scared that makes them want to pick on you even more! I made it through all the rooms, then at the end I went down a slide to the exit and I thought for sure someone would be at the end but there wasn’t anyone. When you go down the slide you have to cross your arms over your chest which is really creepy and the slide hurts your back a little. It's not that scary, except when you can’t walk next to your friend and if you have to go into a room first or if they point you out and talk to you.

Scary Acres Kaitlin Ceder Haunted Houses are all over Omaha. Possibly the scariest one in the area is Scary Acres. There’s 3 haunted attractions, the first one I went into when I went is the Haunted Woods. We waited for over an hour in the line. While you’re waiting, they have people dressed up walking around trying to scare others.

There were 3 clowns driving like maniacs in a golf cart. They got out of the cart every once in awhile to chase people. There was a guy with a chainsaw, who didn’t look scary at all. People were just scared of the fact of the chainsaw. Anyways, back to the Haunted Woods. We finally got inside, all 11 of our group. There’s a guy that comes out and is your “guide” through the woods. The theme is like a rundown, creepy carnival. Although, there was a lack of clowns in there, which surprised me. There’s some tight spaces they make you go through, some people pop out while you’re in those tight spaces. This one was the least scariest out of all of them. Next, we went to the House On the Hill. When you’re waiting in line, you’re (obviously) on a hill. From the line, you can see the end of the haunted house. At the end, there is a guy with a chainsaw, and if you run, he will chase you and you can see people from the waiting line being chased, so that kind of ruins the ending of the house for you. But, anyways, you go through and there’s typical rooms in a house, but there is just more blood. The only room that actually scared me is the one where it’s the room of a little girl. There are dolls hanging from the walls, and the walls are so close together that the dolls touch you. That’s the only part I don’t like. In the end, we didn’t get chased because none of us ran from the chainsaw. The last haunted attraction at Scary Acres is the Master’s Castle. This one isn’t scary as much as like trippy. For example, they have you go through a space that is pitch black. So dark you cannot see your hand in front of your face, and the walls start closing in as you

Vol. 2 Issue 3 keep walking, and there’s twists and turns that you just have to feel out with your shoulders. Towards the end of that part, I started to panic because I could no longer fit going forward, I had to turn sideways. I did not realize that I had to turn until my best friend told me to.

indoor “outdoor graveyard”, and a killer clown hallway.

Shadow's edge By: Ayden Rowell How scary is shadow's edge you ask? It is scary enough to send most people out terrified and jumpy. Some people like me don’t like being scared by others but like to scare people. Personally me being me I hate the chainsaw, and also the clowns. My experience a few years ago and now we're completely different. Comparing them the one this year was a lot more fun but way scarier. Their where clowns and chainsaws which I hate both.

Vol. 2 Issue 3 They opened shadows edge because back in the day. There was a haunted house out front of mangelsen's and they wanted to bring back that fright and fun. This haunted house gets scarier every year. But that is better because some stay the same every year. But this one don’t. I mean you never know what to expect. I like surprises but not surprises in this kind of way. This specific place started in 2003 and has grown in popularity since. If you liked my review on this place. The address is 3457 S 84th St, Omaha, NE 68124. Be ready to be terrified by the things you see. Also if you want to contact the owner Scott Murphy. his number is 402-505-4477 and he would gladly hope to see you soon. Now make a deal with the devil and go see how terrifying this place is.

Vol. 2 Issue 3 There is a murdered kidnapping people on Halloween and he takes people for a long time. He would take them and like to put them in a small room and fill it up with water and almost drown them. Then he likes to watch them try to escape and then he kills them. He likes to watch them kill each other. The cops found him but he already knew before the cops came and he moved. the cops find him driving to he now house The cops saw him murder a person and he threatened to kill more if they did not let him out. They arrested him when he came out and he was still fighting the cops when he was handcuffed. Ed and Lorraine Warren by:Harly Larsen

THE Halloween Kidnapping

By: Joseph Slobodnik Bob’s wife died in 2013. He was sad and Bob saw her die, so he thinks he could have done something to stop it. But it drove him insane. So he started to kidnap and murder people.

Have you ever seen Annabelle? or the conjuring? or the haunting in Connecticut? or heard the craziness behind the Amityville horrors? They were all based on true events, but that's not what I’m here to tell you about. I'm talking about the brave souls who investigated these strange phenomenon, Ed and Lorraine Warren. In 1952 a few years after they got married they founded New England Society for Psychic Research, the oldest ghost hunting group in New England. Together they wrote many books about Demonology(the study of demons or of

demonic belief) and found plenty of evidence to prove the existence of ghost. One of their most popular investigations would be the house of horrors, the Amityville House. The Amityville house was owned by a nice couple named Kathy and George Lutz and they claimed that there house was haunted, they said that they kept hearing noises and doors were slamming and one very scary case was when there little girl saw a ghost with a pig head. The next day George was going to the boat yard when he saw a ghost with a pig head. There was a lot of people saying it was fake so the warrens decided to investigate it. They found plenty of proof of it being haunted and later on it was turned into a movie. Another of the more popular cases is the case of Annabelle the doll who was a haunted doll that was the presence of a little girl and when strange things were happening the couple that owned it were realizing that the doll was at all the cases of the strangeness. That's when Ed and Lorraine came in and took the doll. Now you can find the doll at the occult museum in Pennsylvania. That was also turned into a movie. Amityville Amityville Is the most haunted because before the other people moved in a demon had a bunch of bad sprits who he put chains on and in cages and starved he told the oldest son he said catch em kill em so he started changing like in a mean way because he was getting possessed by this demon and wanted him to kill his family but when he did kill them he put the evidence somewhere and he ran off but when he ran off he changed from mean back to normal but

Vol. 2 Issue 3 every time they back to the same place they would go back aggressive then he called the police when he left then they police came to the house and the son went back to the house and he said he was the victim and then they asked questions and then found out he was the killer because they did fingerprints on the door knobs and he was either executed or sent to jail for life after a few years the house was up for sale and when the Lutz family moved in the dad started turning mean and try to kill his family with the same gun the oldest son used to kill his sisters and brothers. Best Halloween Experience By Brock Renfro

My Best Halloween Experience is when I went to a haunted house and my whole family went and my brother went to the front Door and a clown snuck up behind my brother and put his chain saw under his legs and scared my 5 year old brother at the time into tears and my brother to this day think that clown tried to cut him in half and he has been scared of clowns. The haunted house it was called the haunted hollow and it looked kind of scary not it was like every other haunted house the house was broken up had people screaming and yelling and ghost moaning and chain shaking but it was all just speakers. when you go in there's

smoke so you can see the people that come up to you and scream in your face. Then you go outside in a maze and then there's werewolves that come over the maze and trap you in a dead end. Then you go out of the maze and you see Freddy Krueger say go into the cornfield path and meet Jason and then Jason scares you then you go out. I say it worth your money if you have never been to a haunted house before because it not that scary and it good for a beginner I mean if this is your first haunted house ever it would be good because that is why we went there is because so we could make my 6 year old brother to not be scared of haunted house’s. I didn’t know my brother was scared of clowns and I was handing out candy and put on this scary clown mask and he got so scared and he does whatever that clown mask says and so if he changes my TV show I tell him I’m going to get the mask and he knows it's a mask and he's still scared of it and he's 7 years old now. Stanley Hotel By: Jacob Meggers

In 1911, Room 217 was the Presidential Suite the hotel's archivist an L shaped room that took up the space that now houses two rooms 217 and 215. On the

Vol. 2 Issue 3 evening of June 25 a thunderstorm cut the power and all of the hotel's guests were taken down to the lobby while staff was charged with lighting the back-up acetylene gas lamps. There was an unknown gas leak when Elizabeth Wilson entered Room 217 with a lit candle. The gas didn't have an odor in that time period, so she couldn't smell anything. As soon as she entered the room, there was an instant explosion. The massive blast destroyed about (10%) of the hotel, it's entire west wing. It was a compression explosion, so it actually put out its own fire, otherwise it would have burned down the hotel because it is mostly wood, a timber frame structure. The force of the explosion sent Wilson crashing into the MacGregor Dining Room located directly under Room 217. She suffered two broken ankles, but recovered from her injuries. But then she ended up working there until her death in 1950, and when guests would stay in the room she would fold people's clothes and do stuff to freak people out. she also when an unmarried couple would get into bed she would force them apart when Mrs. Wilson (the ghost) would get in the bed with them. One of the maids were thrown through the wall and an explosion happened killing a few instantly, and fatally wounding 2 Miss Colburn of the maids but they got up and fought the flames with fire extinguishers. Because of ghosts they ask people when they take them on tours to take pictures of what they’re seeing, so they can analyze their results. They know that the Hotel is still haunted by the people that died there, and to people that had bad stuff happen to them at the Hotel. One

time during the a tour at the Stanley Hotel 103 years after the explosion they found drywall and carpet from the explosion, which never got cleaned up apparently so it could be some more history to the Hotel. Just for people to come and do a tour they’ve made over $1,000,000 just for tours. But now people that stay in the Hotel now don’t get too much activity from the ghosts, depending on their circumstances.

Vol. 2 Issue 3 house was a ton of decorations and two guys were chasing kids away from the house with chainsaws. Also little kids were able to go up there, and so did I! At the end of Halloween there is always this house that gives away the rest of the bowl, or a drink. Plus last year when I went home my dad made cookies out of the candy that I got. Also when it gets dark you can get an eerie feeling. You can also use for your trickor-treat bag as a pillowcase or a bucket or whatever. I hope you have a good Halloween!

My Favorite Halloween Experience By: Jared Thompson

Happy Halloween!! By Dylan Smith Everybody has a favorite costume or a homemade costume. Also there are even people that just go and wear the same thing for a few years. Also some people don’t even go out on Halloween. My favorite costume is make my own costume because it is cheap and free. Plus you might get some comments about how good your costume looks. Plus twice the candy. Who knows you might get some extra candy! My experiences with Halloween was just last year! I was in Omaha where these rich people live, and there was this one house that made the news for most scariest. That happened two year ago. But last year where I went I got this BIG sized candy bar. But, outside of this

My favorite Halloween experience happened last year on October 31. That night my Mom dropped me off at Cameron's house with my other friends. We have planned to go trick-or-treating together for like a month by then. So we get together and go out and get some candy. Cameron lives around a mile and a half from my house. So we were on our way to my house and about halfway to my house our legs were getting so tired. We go up to this house and people that are leaving the house are

literally telling us not to go up there. So all of us didn't think it was going to be that scary. We go up to the door and all of these zombies are chasing us up to the door. The person that is giving out the candy had a big gash in his head and he also looked like a zombie. We take the candy and as we are walking away from the house the zombies are still chasing us. Then, out of nowhere a man dressed up as a scary werewolf is chasing us. We are running as fast as we can down the block. “We lost him!” my friend said. That was very scary for us because all of us can admit that we were very scared. One thing we really remember was that our legs really hurt by then and we had to run to hurt our legs even more. I think that I was the most startled when the werewolf was chasing us. I know that because I ran the farthest and I was already scared from the zombies following us. That was my favorite Halloween experience. Scary Video Game (F.E.A.R. 2 Project Origin) By: Juan Moreno

F.E.A.R. 2 opens up in terms of environments, I like this urban environment it’s my favorite. When Monolith created the first F.E.A.R. in 2005 it delivered a slick blend of kinetic, John Woo-style gunfights along with horror movies. The

Vol. 2 Issue 3 most obvious example being The Ring. You played as the unnamed protagonist of a military team caught up in a rapidly escalating situation centered on a rogue commander, an army of clone soldiers, and Alma. The game raced to an explosive finale with a shock ending. But if you were expecting a continuation of that story in F.E.A.R. 2, you'll have to look elsewhere. The sequel picks up shortly before F.E.A.R. ends and offers a different point of view, as you play as the member of another military squad tasked with what seems to be a routine job - take a corporate executive into custody. This time around, your character has a name (Michael Becket) but the situation unfolds along the same lines. Before you know it. Events rapidly escalate and you're battling an army of mysterious foes. But that's when things start to get weird. You have strange visions of a swing beneath a tree, you see ghostly figures at the corners of your vision, and people have a weird way of melting around you. I like the sequel to F.E.A.R. it continues the suspense story of the supernatural being Alma, whose rage against those who wronged her causes an escalating paranormal crisis that threatens to devour and replace reality with her own. Instead of playing as the Point man, the game's protagonist is Michael Becket, a Delta Force operator whose squad is sent in to take Genevieve Aristide into protective custody approximately thirty minutes before the ending of F.E.A.R.

A review on PT Trevor Brayman

P.T. is a first-person game, in contrast to the usual third-person perspective often found in the Silent Hill series. It centers on an unseen protagonist, controlled by the player, who awakens in a haunted suburban house and experiences supernatural occurrences. Available areas to explore in the home consist of a continuously looping L-shaped corridor with two rooms adjacent to it: a bathroom, and a room from which the player begins each loop. The only available actions are walking and zooming. To progress, the player must investigate frightening events and solve cryptic puzzles. Each time a loop is successfully completed, changes appear in the corridor. Additionally, the player encounters a hostile ghost named Lisa. If she catches the player character, the player experiences a jump scare and is sent back to the beginning of the current loop. After the player solves the final puzzle, a trailer reveals that P.T. is a "playable teaser" for a new game in the Silent Hill series, called Silent Hills, directed by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro, with the protagonist portrayed by Norman Reedus. P.T. centers on a protagonist who awakens in a house from which he cannot escape, in which he can only walk through a continuously looping hallway. On one loop, the radio in the home reports on three cases of familicide, in which fathers committed the act; one was chanting a series of

Vol. 2 Issue 3 numbers. The protagonist soon encounters Lisa, a hostile female ghost, and upon entering the bathroom, obtains a flashlight and finds a creature resembling a fetus in the sink. Later, after being attacked by the ghost, the protagonist reawakens in the room, beginning the loop again; in the room, a bloody, moving paper bag speaks to him, revealing that the "gap in the door" is a "separate reality", and gives him a warning: "The only me is me. Are you sure the only you is you? Eventually, the protagonist hears a woman being killed in the bathroom as the radio urges her attacker on. Upon entering the bathroom again, the creature in the sink addresses the protagonist, revealing that ten months earlier, he had turned to alcohol after losing his job. His wife had then found part-time employment because a manager felt physically attracted to her. RESIDENT EVIL BY RYAN BANGART

Resident Evil is based around an apocalyptic world an a very disturbing setting but is crowned on of the greatest games in video gaming history. The game talks about several Alpha Team. Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield are the main characters (that the player can play

as) the two are one of greatest members of the Alpha Team. In the 1950s or 1960s, two British descendants, Ozwell E. Spencer and Edward Ashford founded the Umbrella Corporation. Umbrella TVirus was launched unexpectedly upon the citizens of Raccoon City in 1997 and the city has been at the same time seeing recent deaths by a group of murders. The city’s S.W.A.T team, the S.T.A.R.S or the Special Tactics and Rescue Services is trying to get rid of the murders. But during the game, another team known as Bravo Team is sent to the city first than the rest but lost contact during their mission. So, the Alpha Team is sent to investigate where the team ended up in an abandoned mansion. After searching many creatures and disturbing things including blood on the walls and T-Virus infected wolfs. The mission was complete by the end of the first game. More recruits, Leon Kennedy, a rookie police officer is left to survive the apocalyptic Raccoon City. The main police chief Brian Irons, was secretly working with Umbrella and hid all of the secret projects. Leon helps out Chris’ sister, Claire, who is trying to look for Chris. Even though he is in the same city doing more missions.

Five Nights At Freddy's Four Easter Eggs by Devin Schorsch Between all the jump scares and creepy animatronics it’s pretty easy to miss some of the Easter eggs and smaller details hiding in Five Nights at Freddy’s 4. But they are there, waiting to be noticed. Better yet, they might tell a

Vol. 2 Issue 3 pretty disturbing story about what’s really happening inside of the game. Here is a link to watch some of the Easter eggs. https://youtu.be/g9UisVDVaLQ In that video there is a phone guy that if you hear it backwards you will recognize it from earlier ] After you beat the game on nightmare mode, you are treated to a screen featuring the box above. “Perhaps some things are best left forgotten, for now,” the game says. The question on everyone’s mind is of course: what is inside the box? Until Dawn, Is It Bad? Is It Good? Isaiah Cayton

Until Dawn is a horror game, where you have to make up all of the decisions. You are given choices and have to pick them, and even the smallest choice can change the entire story. There are about 20 or so different endings. It has some of the smoothest graphics out so far. Its graphics are so good it almost looks like an interactive movie. Also the sounds are very good, the screams are realistic, even the crunch of the snow sounds natural. The characters of voiced by a wide variety of people. Hayden Panettiere plays the character of Samantha. Peter Stormare plays the role

of Dr.Hill. Rami Maleck plays the role of Joshua, one of the antagonists in the game. Brett Dalton plays the role of Mike. Meagan Martin plays the role of Jessica. Galadriel Stineman plays Ashley. Nicole Bloom plays the role of Emily. Jordan Fisher plays the role of Matthew. Noah Fleiss plays the role of Christopher. Ella Lentini plays the role of both Hannah and Beth. The plot is that Hannah and Beth are murdered in the beginning on their own mountain. They are invited back to the mountain next year. Little do they know that there is a psycho on the mountain with them. Throughout the story they find friends and foes, foes, and more foes. They must use fast thinking to keep themselves alive. Or lose their best friend, what will it be?

Vol. 2 Issue 3 You started by a truck that runs but you can’t get in the trunk to get away. But on the trunk you find one of your pages so you're one step closer to the end. Then you have to run through the woods trying to avoid slenderman and getting the second page in a building that has bathrooms that say get out and he is coming. It’s your turn to figure out everything else. In the game I played it on a computer on the website Dark Horror Games you can not play the game on your Chromebook. I used the arrow keys to play the game.

Slender the Nine Pages By: Emily Eikenberry

The game Slender the nine pages is scared. It’s at night and you have this guy who you can’t his face and he just comes up behind you and attacks you. You never see him coming but you feel him coming or if you are close to him. This game is really popular for people who are not scared to play horror games at night because it’s more fun at night. No one has finished the game without getting caught by slenderman.

The Chosen By: Erica Augustine The Chosen is a horror film directed by Ben Jehoshua, staring Kian Lawley as the main character Cameron. Cameron has a younger niece Angie, (Hannah Sohn). Angie is taken by “The Child Stealer” ‘Lilith’ played by Stefanie Estes. Through the whole movies Cameron is trying to save Angie from Lilith. Cameron having to sacrifice

6 bloodline relatives to Lilith to save Anglie. This movie is one of the bests in my opinion because it’s not to scary but still has you on the edge. The chosen when first released onto iTunes was floating between number 2 and 3. The chosen made by ‘Terror FIlms’ was released into some movie theatres July 24th 2015. Personally the ending was the best, and probably the most ‘Horror’ filled part Lilith cones out of beneath Angie and snatches the last chosen member. Causing goose bumps under my skin. My favorite character was Cameron, played by Kian Lawley. Not only was he pleasing to the eye, he had an awesome personality. He wanted to save Angie, he was there for here and he cared a lot about her. In conclusion this is a very pleasing horror movie, buy it on iTunes, or vimeo. Chuck E. Cheese Incident By: Junior Silva So, in the 70's, there was a guy working at Chuck E. Cheese's called Paul Lewis, and he had a mental disorder, leaving him to believe he was actually Chuck E. Cheese, but he didn't tell anyone this. Many of the other employees just thought Paul loved his job, so they just shrugged off the fact that he practically lived at Chuck E. Cheese's, working extra hours after dark. Soon after he started working at the pizzeria, children started going missing. Paul (from now on I'll refer to him as Chuck E.) enticed the kids with promises that they won a secret competition, and the prize was to go to a special room with "the best arcade games, the world's greatest pizza,

Vol. 2 Issue 3 a bigger playground, and a huge mountain of tokens" after the pizzeria closed, only choosing the "beautiful children" or the ones most unsupervised. Not all of "Chuck E."'s promises were false, though, as there were video games, a playground (which was smaller than the one in the main lobby, "Chuck E." saying he was going to expand it soon.) After letting the small group of kids play around, "Chuck E." brought out pizza and sodas, which were laced with sedatives. After all the pizza and soda was consumed by the children, they quickly fell asleep, and "Chuck E."'s plan was put into play. "Chuck E." wanted to make "The best pizza ever", and he needed one special ingredient for it. Soon after, there was shortly a new pizza on the Chuck E. Cheese menu, called "Chuck. E's Special". The ham was changed with a different kind of meat, and there was more cheese. The pizza was instantly discontinued after finding parts of a child's finger in one of the pizzas. "Chuck E." was jailed for murder and other charges after an inspection of the pizzeria uncovered "Chuck E"'s , and when he was interviewed, "Chuck E." burst into tears crying "I just wanted to make the best pizza ever!" and "I'm not a bad mouse!"

“A Wicked and Savage City” By Cynthia Salinas And there was that wall With it’s vomited yellowed and cracked stucco Moldy and gray Witness to my damnation, my perilous downfall Oh and how it was a merciless plummet As that maroon blush struck the walls, an artistic splatter Coordinated streaks rushing down those sickly walls That rancid room, no ventilation Dust floating in the air Light waltzing across the window, Coming down upon those walls my corpse leaking crimson on the scratchy patched floor My corpse frigid, glacial, numb My world felt prematurely terminated But it was just another day in a dilapidated street Deep in the slums of a decrepit, corrupted city What a farce

Wendy By Matt Chaplin Wendy told me once how much she loved the sea. She would say, “The sea is my home. I wish I could be a mermaid, or breathe underwater.” Wendy was poetic like that. So, one day, we were walking along the shore. “I know I’ve been ignoring you lately. I’m sorry.” She said the words with caution, like she was afraid her voice would break in half if the words didn’t come out perfectly. “I just need a break.” “From what?” I asked, looking at the sadness in her face. It was the kind of sadness that wasn’t just on someone sometimes. It was a part of her skin, etched into her cheeks, carved into her cheekbones. The hollows of her eyes wailed and her lips screamed. Her delicate features cried out in pain. “From life.” She whispered, and the sadness in her flesh seemed to boil upwards in her blood, her paleness turning stark white against her hair, the color of the sand under our feet. A single

silver tear ran down her face, and I caught it with my finger. “Be careful what you wish for.” I replied quietly, and she looked up at me. The ice blue of her eyes were cold and dead, and they seemed to whisper unheard words to me. “I don’t want to die. I’m already dead. Don’t you see that, Christopher? I’m already dead.” Her voice wavered. She sounded like a ghost. “Look for me. In the water. I’m waiting in the water for you. Deep below with my poetry, where the sea turns black and my body rots. That’s where you’ll find the key. Find out who did this to me, Christopher.” Her hair faded, her skin turned gray. Her eyes were the last to go. They always were. I woke with a start and looked wildly around my room. I felt my heart racing and tried to calm down. I always dreamed of her, but this was the first time I had found out who she really was. I ran to my journal and wrote everything down. I grabbed my things and ran outside, down the street, past the park, across from the school, all the way down to the shore. I stared at the gray water, the color of Wendy’s eyes. “Where are you?” I whispered to the waves as they crashed against the large black rocks. I looked up at the silver sky, just like the dream. Her words echoed in my mind, whispered in the wind, danced around me. “Look for me. In the water. I’m waiting for you. Waiting. Deep below. Waiting. Look for me. Find out who did this. Look for me. I’m waiting. In the water. Deep below. My body rots. Look for me. I’m waiting.” “What happened to you, Wendy?” I asked, staring at the foam of murky water against the wet sand. The cold mist of salt water sprayed my face.

Vol. 2 Issue 3 “I want to help you. Where are you? What happened? Who are you, Wendy?” I let out a frustrated sigh and headed for home. I sat down at my desk and opened my computer. I typed “Wendy drowns seaside” but nothing came up. I tried “Girl drowns seaside, north Carolina” and found a link to an article from a few years back. “Wendy Nightingale reported dead in Seaside, North Carolina on Sunday. Wendy went missing on a Friday night two weeks ago. The last person to see her was her boyfriend, Alexander Tuckett. Alexander said, ‘Wendy seemed sad and strange all day. If you ask me, she probably drowned herself in the water.’ Alexander was taking in for questioning as a suspect but was later released. Wendy’s body was never found, and she has been reported dead.” Could this possibly be my Wendy? The Wendy I had been dreaming about for months, murdered in the water? She said something happened to her. She wanted me to find out who did this. The next day, I used the phonebook to track down Alexander and decided to pay him a visit. He still lived in town, so I walked there and knocked on his door. A boy a few years older than me answered. “Hello. Are you Alexander Tuckett?” I asked politely. He nodded. “Hi. My name is Christopher Mallory. I just wanted to talk to you for a little bit. May I come in?” He seemed reluctant, but let me in anyway. He led me to the couch in his living room and gestured for me to sit down. I took the offer, and he sat down in the chair next to me. “Thank you. So, I just have a few questions. They’re about Wendy.” His

eyes widened and I saw anger flash through them. “I didn’t kill Wendy.” He said, and I moved back in surprise. “I didn’t say you did. I just want to know about her. And, of course, her death.” I replied calmly, and he seemed to simmer a bit. “You seem like a cool kid, so I’m gonna give you some real talk here. Wendy, she was strange. Everyone knew that. And I ignored them. I asked her out, I was real nice. And she was nice too. But she was a tease. A bad tease. So, I tried to break up with her. And she flipped out. That was the day she went missing. My friend AJ said he saw her after I did, tried to talk to her about the breakup, and she freaked out on him too. Scratched him, slapped him, hit him. He had to throw her off of him. Said she ran off, got in a boat. Got a few miles out when the waves really picked up. And when the boat went topside, she went with it.” He explained, looking me dead in the eye. I nodded. “Thank you for your time. I’m going to head out now.” I said, and quickly left the house. “No, Alexander. I don’t want to do this. I said no!” She swatted his hands away. I was in the room, but they didn’t see me. They couldn’t. “You’re such a tease, Wendy!” Alexander exclaimed, grabbing her wrists and slamming her down. He started to attack her, and all I could do was watch and listen to her bloodcurdling screams. “You see, Christopher?” She whispered, looking right at me. The scene melted away and I was transported elsewhere. Wendy was in her house. She was writing in a journal. She slipped it in a drawer before closing and locking it. She slipped the key around her neck, the

Vol. 2 Issue 3 gold chain dull against her sharp collarbones. The scene faded once again and it was night. “AJ, stop!” She shouted, fighting his hands off of her. He threw her to the ground and tied a white cloth over her eyes. He tossed her in a boat and jumped in after her. He sailed out a few miles and began to rock the boat until it tipped over, taking Wendy with it. AJ swam out to shore and walked away. I heard Wendy’s voice calling out quietly. “True beauty drives us mad. That’s why we destroy it.” She whispered, her voice nothing but air and then the gurgling of water. I saw the life drain out of her. I grabbed her hand and traced her name against her skin. “Wake up, Wendy. Wendy, it was AJ and Alexander. Wendy, you’re gonna be okay, please just wake up.” I said quietly. I shot upright in bed. I had no idea what to do. I had no proof. Nothing. The key. I remembered. I ran to the shore, got in a boat, and rowed to the same spot Wendy had been that night. I dived into the water and listened for her. “Here! I’m down here!” I could hear her voice and followed it to the bottom, where it was dark. I could see her. I grabbed for her, she was ice cold. “I’m dead. Just get the key. Hurry, Christopher.” Her voice was nothing more than the wisps of her last breath. I grabbed the key and yanked at the chain. The rot from being down in the water for years made the chain snap easily. I soared back up to the surface, gasping for air, choking, coughing. I spit up salt water and swam to shore. I ran, feeling the water dry on me as I bolted up the steps of the empty house I had passed so many times. The door was unlocked, almost like it was just for me. I knew this house well from my dreams, and ran

up the stairs to Wendy’s room. I ran to her desk and unlocked the drawer. I pulled out the journal and began to read. “It’s all here. All the proof you need. Alexander attacked Wendy and AJ was with her on the beach the night she drowned.” I said, handing the police the book and the key to the drawer. The policeman raised an eyebrow at me. “How did you get this?” He asked, and I shrunk in my seat a bit. I knew it wasn’t the time or place to lie, so I didn’t. I explained the whole story, the dreams, seeing Alexander, the key and the journal. “If you go out there right now, you’ll find her body. And you could interview Alexander again. AJ too. I swear to you, officer, I’m not making this up. At least hear me out. Even dead girls deserve justice.”

Sleepover Gone Wrong By: Maxine Mass On a dark and scary night. The gray clouds scattered over the horizon. Amy and her friend, Abby were in the

living room of a brick house sleeping soundly. It was 11:11 pm. Amy and Abby lay silent on the brown quilted carpet. The TV stayed on and could be heard from upstairs where Amy’s mom and dad were sleeping. 5 minutes later, the TV shut off. All the lights in the old house flickered. Amy opened her eyes startled. She didn’t know what was going on and looked confused. She sat up on the carpet looking around. The lights had stopped flickering and fully turned off. Amy could no longer see Abby. It was pitch black, the only thing you could see was the nightly glow of the moon through the tinted windows. Amy laid back down, staring at the ceiling. She sat there for what felt like an hour staring at nothing but the black ceiling. She then heard a noise from the floor. She heard chains rattling. But the rattling echoed through her ears. It got louder and louder and louder. All of a sudden, the lights flickered back on. And the rattling had stopped. Amy heard the steps creak and crack as someone came down the stairway. But it was only Amy’s mom. Amy found the her mother was only trying to creep her out and had flickered the lights and turned off the TV with a remote control. When her mother started back up the steps, Amy laid back down on the floor next to Abby. Then out of nowhere, she heard her mother shriek as if a murder had taken a knife and stabbed it into her mother. Amy jumped to her feet and trudged up the stairs to find her mother nowhere to be found. In the corner of her eyes, she saw the closet in her room close. Amy walked over slowly and opened the closet door. There her mother was. And it was a sight to be undescribed... The ghost or “monster” or

Vol. 2 Issue 3 whatever it was, had murdered Amy’s mom. Krampus By Lily Hernandez

Krampus a monster of legend or, is he? As we all know everything has an opposite even St. Nick, Krampus is his opposite. He tortures naughty children by killing them then putting their lives into toys or, sometimes he eats them but some manage to survive or even escape from his sack he carries. If you make it to his lair there is no hope for most except one little girl. She had the strength of being brave to get out and to make sure she never saw him again. Her story begins here. The night of Christmas Eve a little girl named Daniella was at a dinner with her family, she was very anxious to get home and go to bed. After a while she became dead tired, and it was around 10:00 so she and parents went home. By the time they got home it was almost 11:00. When her father had finished putting Danielle in her bed but she couldn’t sleep. She sat there staring at the half opened door. After almost an hour she had fell asleep. She awoke at 1:48 from a loud thud. Daniella screamed for her mother but there came no answer she yelled again even louder still no answer. She got out of her bed and walked to her parents room. They were there but they seem to be sleeping

hard. She shook them and yelled in their ears, nothing. So she grabbed the flashlight and ran down the hall to the top of the stairs. She crept down the stairs and sat on the third to last stair. As she looked around and from under the kitchen door she saw a light. She stepped off the steps. She walked slowly to the door of the kitchen the door opened with a small creak and she came face to face with a monster with skin that looked like ash, he had a scar on his left eye that looked fresh, also he had razor sharp teeth and ears. The things that stuck out to her more was the horns on his head and he was covered in light grey hair. He had blood red lips. He roared in her face she screamed but there was no one to help her, she ran up the stairs running to her parents room but he was fast he grabbed her leg and she was pulled down the stairs. She kicked and thrashed around but no matter how hard she kicked she couldn’t release herself from his hand. He was very strong she finally realized she wasn’t going to get him to let go, Daniella had grabbed a shoe that was on top of the staircase and started slapping him in the face he still let go she knew it was useless and stopped fighting he looked her in the face then, threw Daniella in the sack on his back. She seen the outside and looked like he could but two or three kids but on the inside she counted almost thirty-seven in her view. She saw no bottom only a hole that was pitch black, she turned around and hit a kids foot she fell and before she hit the bottom she passed out from shock. When Daniella woke up she was on the floor of a house that was six times her size. She looked around and seen only a few children. She got up and

Vol. 2 Issue 3 walked to the door she couldn’t open it was locked. She turned the other way she saw the monster in a chair above her the monster towered her by eight feet. Daniella thought to herself he was only a few feet taller than her in her house. She looked in the chair Krampus was sleeping slouched in the chair she walked around the chair and what she saw made her jaw drop to the floor. Behind him she saw camera’s, millions, on almost every screen she saw a bedroom with a sleeping child. Then she turned and saw her bedroom but it looked liked something out of a dream. He groaned and as he got out of the chair she didn't dare move or even breath. The monster turned and saw Daniella as she screamed. She started running to the door. She saw a small hole in the door she slid under it. The Krampus was running at such speed he hit the door and it flew open. Daniella had no time to think, she took off to the nearest door she slid under the door frame. When she entered the room all she saw was toys that were walking around and smacking each other. She was going to scream when all of a sudden she seen the toys all turn and look at her. She stood as still as a stone at the end of the room was another door she saw natural light. Now all she had to do was get to the end of the room but it was huge. The toys had finally turned away and where doing what they were doing before. Then she heard a key ring and the locked turned. She started crying because she knew that it was over she was never going to see her mom and dad again, never going to go, go to school, but something told her to get up so she did, She started running through the room weaving through the toys she knocked down quite a few but they didn’t get back up, she heard heavy

footsteps at the beginning of the room. She didn’t stop or even turn around. She reached the door but she couldn’t see a crack under the door, but could hear the footsteps were getting closer. Krampus was at her heels. He began to run he had his horns in the attack position, and then he smacked his face on the door. It fell off the hinges, she bolted out the door and onto the white snow she ran and ran as fast as she could she came to a cliff. She turned and saw Krampus but he wasn't coming any closer. Daniella turned around and saw a bright light, she saw it and she thought she was dead. But someone was talking to her in a soft voice she opened her eyes and saw St Nick, and he said to her “Child you did not deserve this. Let me take you home.”. She nodded and on the way home she fell asleep. When Daniella had woke up the next day and it was Christmas day she raced down the hall to the top of the stairs, she saw the presents under the tree she heard talking in the kitchen she ran to it and there she saw her mom and dad making breakfast for her. And that is how her story ends

Villisca Axe murderer By Allison Schubert During the evening of June 9th 1912 and early morning of June 10, 1912. In the town of Villisca in Southwestern, Iowa . The six members of the Moore family and two house guest that had been invited over that night, were found murdered in the Moore’s residence. All eight victims, including the six children, had severe head wounds from an axe. The murder weapon. The more family consisted of parents Josiah (43) and Sarah (39) and their four children: Herman Montgomery (11), Mary Katharine (10), Arthur Boyd (7) and Paul Vernon (5). That night Katherine Moore invited Ina Mae (8) and her older sister Lena Gertrude Stillinger (12) to spend the night. That evening the visiting girls and the Moore’s family attended Presbyterian Church, where they participated in the Children’s Day Program. At 9:30 pm when the program ended, the Moore’s and Stillinger sisters walked back to the Moore’s house, and made it there around 9:45 and 10 pm. The next morning around 7am, Mary Peckham, the Moore’s former neighbor, became concerned after she noticed the Moore’s family hadn’t come out to do their morning chores. She then

Vol. 2 Issue 3 knocked on their door. When nobody answered, Mary Peckham tried entering the house, but found it was locked. Mary Peckham then tried contacting Josiah Moore’s brother, Ross Moore. He tried knocking on the door also, but their was no response, with his copy of the house key he entered the house, he went to the parlor and opened the guest bedroom door. Only to find Ina and Lena Stillinger bodies on the bed. They were dead. Peckham immediately called Hank Horton, the primarily peace officer, who arrived shortly at the scene thereafter.

When Hank Horton went through the Moore’s residence, he revealed that the entire Moore’s family and the two Stillinger sisters were dead. The axe, that belonged to Josiah Moore, was found in the guest room where the Stillinger sisters were found. Doctors concluded that the murders had occurred around 5am. The killer began in the master’s bedroom, where Josiah and Sarah were sleeping. Josiah had got the worst of the beating. The killer then made it to the children’s room, where the four kids

were sleeping. And killed them with the axe also. I had relatives that had visited the house, which is still open for tourist to visit. They took their two kids their to the house and stayed overnight . When they got back home they told me how they thought there were ghost in the house. How, when they tried going to sleep, they heard children’s voices and felt cold gusts of wind every now and then while lying down that night.

Vol. 2 Issue 3 cemetery include apparitions a man with a shotgun chasing you off blood on the bottom of your pants after visiting balls of light/orbs chasing you noises. Since several books and ghost hunter stories have published the myths and lore about this cemetery the cemetery has been plagued by local satanists and vandals with acts ranging from knocking over gravestones digging up bodies decapitated heads and other malicious activities. The method of execution by firing squad dates back several hundred years ,as long as guns have been around. Only until the early to mid 1800s as a way to kill military prisoners a hanging was reserved for non-military personal around most of the western world.

Gypsy Graveyard By Gabe Wilcoxen Apparently a group of Gypsies had moved to Crown Point in the early 1800’s and were kicked out of town as is usual with travelling gypsies after being in town for only a couple of days. Accused of stealing livestock stealing immoral values pagan rituals, they were pressured to leave. The gypsies were hit with a plague of influenza and told the townspeople they couldn’t leave till they got better but the citizens of Crown Point were uncaring and turned their backs refusing to give them medicine or care. The Gypsies moved on and buried their dead in mounds on this site that was the gypsy encampment now turned cemetery. It is believed they cast a spell on the area a spell of protection and vengeance cursing Crown Point and the land that is now South East Grove Cemetery. Reports from visitors to the

former lighthouse keeper who was a veteran in the civil war has been seen occasionally, William Harm. Due to many ghost TAPS a investigation of paranormal activity, went to the scene found several pieces of evidence, including a video of what appears to be a woman looking over the railing on the lighthouse staircase. The lighthouse was first made in 1683 but then had structural problems and had to be remade in 1870 finished in 1874. The same lighthouse collapsed again due to fail in making. Many crew members had to remake parts of the lighthouse, that is when a lot of paranormal activity started to happen. At least three people have died of sickness or other non-accidental causes at the lighthouse over the years. Weather you believe in ghost or not many shadowy figures have appeared in the building and it is yet to be proven what it is. Waverly Hills Sanatorium By:Rachel Ward

Waverly Hills Sanitorium opened its doors on October 17th,1926. The hospital started because there was a tuberculosis outbreak. Since the sanitorium closed its doors in 1982, a little over 63,000 patients have died in the sanitorium. 1,000’s would die from tuberculosis and 100’s would die at the hands of doctors. Nearly 24 patients would die a day when Waverly was open. Because there was limited space in

Vol. 2 Issue 3 the morgue, doctors and nurses would store the dead bodies with the meats in the coolers that fed the other living patients in the hospital. There is also something eerie that comes along with the sanitorium. That is a death tunnel or the ‘body chute’. If someone died they would put the dead body down the chute. This chute would end up at the bottom of the hill which Waverly Hills was on top of. Another really weird thing is that they would not tell the living about the chute so they wouldn’t scare them and such. Waverly Hills is also reportedly to be haunted. I, myself do believe in ghosts but here's just some of the reports of the ghosts at Waverly Hills Sanitorium. Timmy was a 6-7 year old boy who allegedly died in Waverly. Some people bring balls so Timmy will play with them. There is video of Timmy playing with the ball. Another story is about room 502. There was a nurse that supposedly killed herself by hanging her body with a cord. They say the reason why she did it was because she was pregnant with another doctor’s baby. They were not married to each other and the nurse was open to tuberculosis. Waverly Hills Sanitorium has been featured in many movies and documentaries. One documentary is ‘Spooked’ which was on the Sci-fi channel. This documentary just tells the history and some of the supposed hauntings. Another movie is ‘Death Tunnel’. The movie is basically about some paranormal stuff that happened during that time. Waverly Hills provides tours which is in Louisville, Kentucky. If you’re brave enough enter the spooky and haunted Waverly Hills Sanitorium.

Vol. 2 Issue 3 even encouraged the idea. Although they didn’t have a haunted prison tour they let certain people host creepy tours to make profits off of. Some paranormal investigators say that Alcatraz is the most extremely haunted place they had ever seen/been to. The local tribes and other people thought the place to already be haunted because they said it had a bad atmosphere and they said the land and the body of water around it was cursed.

Alcatraz By: Jacob Fries

Alcatraz was used as a federal prison on October 12 1933 and was known to be the most vicious prison ever because it was stranded in deep water with strong tides. It held the worst criminals that the 1900s had dealt with and being 1.5 miles away from any other land it was very hard to escape. Precisely 36 prisoners tried to escape in 14 different attempts (23 were caught alive six were shot and killed during their escape two drowned and five are listed as missing and presumed of drowning). That’s in 29 years of being a prison they documented no accounts of a successful escape. Four men, John and Clarence anglin allen west and frank Morris might have successfully escaped Alcatraz I believe that they successfully escaped. They took spoons and also made a drill with a vacuum engine which they used to scrape at the sides of their ventilation shafts. They covered them with clothes and other cloths like blankets they were in the laundry room stealing clothes to make a raft. They had been presumed dead by drowning but it was never fully proved because they never found the bodies of the victims. Many of the faculty and staff thought that the place being haunted wouldn’t be hard to believe and some

Another place is called Denver’s lunatic asylum it was part prison and part asylum for mentally unstable criminals

the reason it closed down was because of the death there when one of them died they wouldn’t know until days later when they're in a corner rotting.

One more place is called transAllegheny lunatic asylum it is in west Virginia it was designed to hold 250 patients but it ended up holding 2,400 people. it used to be a brief civil war military base so at night soldier that died roam the halls a lot of patients have said they hear voices saying get out. and now it is a place where events happen now for Halloween

Guillotine by - Wimach Gilo

Vol. 2 Issue 3 Many students don't know what a Guillotine is, in option it is very horrible. It's harsh and very intense to use against other people. I choose to write about this to inform other people about this torture device. A guillotine is a French weapon used for carrying out executions by beheading people. It consists of a tall, high in which air with a weighted and angled blade is raised to the top of a post. The victim is tied at the bottom of the guillotine with their neck held directly under the blade. The person controlling the execution then released blade and then cuts the head from the body. The last person guillotined in France was Hamida Djandoubi in 1977. Back in the day children often whet to guillotine executions because it was public, and some may have even played with their own mini guillotines at home. During the 1790s a two-foot-tall Guillotine was a popular toy in France. Kids used it to dolls and rodents some were used as a bread and vegetable slicers. The Rack by: Ashlie Knecht The rack is a medieval torture device that was originally made in England. This torture device was made by John Holland in 1447. And its legality was questioned in

1628.

The rack was made up of usually a wooden frame that was raised a little off the ground and had two rollers at the end of each side. The ankles of the victim were tied to one roller but the victim's hands were chained to the other roller. As the interrogation process progressed, a handle attached to the top roller was used to stretch the limbs away from the body and the ropes were used to dislocate joints of the victim. You think that was the worst part think about the popping and snapping of the bones of the victim. I think that this torture device should be illegal because it's killing people by ripping their limbs apart. And because they use it to interrogate people. Like there should be other ways to find information instead of torturing someone. Harold “Doctor Death” Shipman By: Jill Wilson Harold Fredrick Shipman was a fairly well known serial killer from Nottingham, England. With his kill count of over two hundred and fifty, he had been a fairly successful murderer and Medical Doctor. He knew what he was doing, and he executed his plan well, pun intended. That is, until he was caught. Either way. He killed subtly. Dismissed it as a simple slip-up on his

Vol. 2 Issue 3 part, and his plan worked. For quite a while. Subtlety is key, Mister Shipman! This mastermind was born in Nottingham, England, on the fourteenth or January in 1946. He was very, very close to his mother, who died when he was seventeen. Investigators think this is what may have made him snap. She died in a manner similar to what Shipman adopted as his own to use on his later victims. The doctor working with his mother accidentally injected a fatal overdose of morphine. On the twentyfirst of June, 1963, Shipman’s mother was pronounced dead. Shipman studied medicine at Leeds School of Medicine, and graduated in 1970. In 1974, he took his first position as general practitioner in Todmorden. He was caught forging prescriptions on Demerol for his own use within a year. Not his best moment, I’ll admit. He was fined, and attended a drug rehabilitation clinic located in York for a short period of time. He took on the same position as before in two years at Donneybrook Medical Centre in Hyde. He continued working throughout the 1980’s and, in doing so, became a respected member of the community. He wasn’t discovered until 1998, and since it all began in 1975, I find it funny that the people around him were so blind to it. He had a high death rate among patients, and this eventually led to his downfall. I’ve said before, subtlety is key! We can’t fault him much though. He likely didn’t have much experience cold-bloodedly murdering people. You can’t tell right now but I’m shrugging. Shipman’s trial began on the fifth of October, 1999. He was charged with the murder of a variety of different people, mostly women above the age of fifty.

The list includes but is definitely not limited to Marie West, Irene Turner, Lizzie Adams, Ivy Lomas, and Kathleen Grundy, his very last group of victims before he was finally jailed. All of these women had died between 1995 and 1998. He forged the will of Kathleen Grundy, and had been the last person to ever see her alive. She was found dead, and upon signing her will, he wrote ‘old age’ as her cause of death. It’s a shame he wasn’t a veterinarian. He could’ve made money killing things in the same manner.

Jack the Ripper: A New Theory Arising? From August to November of 1888, mass hysteria bloomed in Britain. A mysterious killer had terrorized the streets of East End London. Committing

Vol. 2 Issue 3 a string of murders, mainly targeting ladies of the night in the slums of the Whitechapel district. The body count is unknown, some estimating ten to fifteen, but it is believed he killed at least five women. Who were killed in horrific, and strangely medical fashions. Which leaves room for the possibility that the unidentified killer was a doctor of some sort, a surgeon even. Over the course of the past century, almost thirty individuals have been accused of being the Ripper. All of different backgrounds and professions. Giving conspiracy theorists plenty of time to fabricate plenty of guesses as to who the killer was. Only last year, amateur sleuth Russell Edwards claimed the Ripper was, Polish immigrant and barber, Aaron Kosminski, one of the suspects at the time. Who was committed to an asylum around the time the murders stopped. This accusation was solicited by the DNA testing of a shawl, which later proved to be a miscalculated error. And only two months ago the upcoming release of the novel, ‘The Real Jane Kelly’, raised speculation once again. Questioning if the Ripper was enraged husband, 51year-old Francis Spurzheim Craig, a reporter on the police courts. In his new book Bruce Robinson explores the Ripper case at a slightly different angle, “We've got this rampaging maniac in the East End, but it suddenly occurred to me – what if they didn't want to catch him? Is there any mileage there? Let's go down that street.” ‘They All Love Jack: Busting the Ripper’ is an 800 page novel centered around the basis that, the Freemasons were protecting the killer, popular Victorian singer and English Composer, Michael Maybrick. (A little history, the

Freemasons were regarded as a high society, secret organization. Keep in mind, Maybrick was a member of six Masonic chapters, and was on the Supreme Grand Council of Freemasons). Robinson’s trail starts at the murders of Elizabeth Stride and Catherine Eddowes who were murdered just hours apart on September 30th, 1888. At the scene of murder Eddowes’, scrawled on a nearby wall were the words, “The Juwes are the men that will not be blamed for nothing." Police Commissioner Charles Warren commanded that the graffiti be washed off, before there could be any photographic evidence. Maybe he was trying to prevent a riot, protect the Freemasons, or attempting to cover something up. Whatever it was, Robinson is clear that he believes the murders were inspired by a Masonic belief, the ritual punishment of three men. Who were killed in grotesque styles, similar to the Ripper’s victims. The Ripper almost mocking the Masons? “I believe that Michael Maybrick was a psychopath, with a hatred of women," Robinson said. "But I think the thing he hated almost more than women was authority and Masonry fits very well in that authoritarian package, because everyone who was in a position of authority was a Mason." This new theory could just one of the many that have come into existence. While it is an entertaining idea, it’s not a very likely one. Possible, but not probable. There have been multiple theories regarding the Freemasons, but none have had concrete evidence. I think we’re condemned to the fact that, we’ll never really know who the Ripper was or why he killed and mutilated several women. All we can really do is hypothesize motives and identity. Who knows, maybe we’ve already profiled

Vol. 2 Issue 3 and checked off the infamous killer in the past century, overlooked a vital piece of information, or just have made too many assumptions. Perhaps the murders aren’t as complicated as they seem. We can conclude that the Ripper’s identity will remain ambiguous and debatable.

My Personal Ghost Story By Kyrsten Easter

When I was ten years old I seen a ghost. Not physically, I seen the actions of a ghost. Not just any ghost but a child ghost. At least we think it's a child. This ghost name is Fred. I don't really understand why but that's just her name. You're probably thinking oops she said “her” but no Fred a girl. Fred lives at my aunts, uncle, grandma, and cousins house. My aunt Amber said that Fred was her friend Don Burgers ghost but then she got attached too Amber and came home with her. We first witnessed Fred one afternoon when my little cousin was four. Fred was in his room and wanted to play. Fred picked up his Toy Story toy and lightly tossed it across the room. That got people's attention. imagine seeing your kids toys going across there room by themselves. Wouldn't you be scared? Well little Kenny’s dad and me

myself were scared. That's when we first meet Fred. Later Amber explained that Fred was Don's ghost that she got attached to her, and she's a friendly ghost. Fred would never hurt a fly. The next time Fred came around was too mess with big Kenny. Fred would move Kenny’s computer mouse and freak him out. She kept messing with him till, one day Kenny started flipping out, screaming and yell that if she didn't leave him alone that he would get crazy. Fred left Kenny alone, but Fred wasn't done. Fred came downstairs with me and she started moving stuff. I yelled “LEAVE ME ALONE.” and she did. Went talking too Amber and Kenny we all thought that Fred was a little kid. We thought that because she plays a lot of jokes. Also Fred tried to play with little Kenny. Last because Fred doesn't like being yelled at. Fred doesn't come around really anymore. We think that Amber hugged Don Burger that he took his ghost back. We assume that Fred is back home. The Russian Sleep Experiment by Alejandro Chavez In 1940 during WWII the Russians had an experiment, where they had 4 test subjects go in a chamber. They’d fill the chamber with gas and put the subjects in the room. The objective of the experiment is to see how long they could stay awake, but when you fell asleep you were ‘free’ you were considered dead. For the first few days the subjects were stable, then days later they were screaming for such a long time, two out of the four subjects could no longer speak from screaming for such a long time. The other two stopped and were quiet for a bit. Then they decided to get

Vol. 2 Issue 3 food for the subject so they sent soldiers to get the subjects, to see if they were okay and if they ate their mandatory meals that they served them. But they didn't even touch their food but when they went in there guts were where splattered all over the place and they were picking at their skin. So the soldiers called the nurse to get the doctors so they could do surgery but they fought back screaming “Leave us in the chamber we like the chamber.”, but since the soldiers did not expect a fight from the subjects. Almost all the soldiers died but managed to escape the chaos. After two of the four test subjects died they agreed to be put in surgery if they got put back in the chamber so as they were in surgery but one agreed to be put to sleep in preparation. When his procedure was done they tried to wake him up, but he died so then they went to the next man, he told them “I want to be awake so I can complete my task.” then will they were putting his guts back in his body and while they were cutting to open more space to put the guts back he told the sergeant “Keep cutting, keep cutting.” then he closed his eyes and felt free. I believe that it is wrong to study on humans first because if they would have studied on animals first because then they could have studied the reaction so that way it would not end as badly as it did. Another thing if they would have studied on animals those soldiers would not have died like that. To me that is very professional on the scientist because he is supposed to the best at what he does and for a man his level to test on a human being is not a very good look on him. If he did test on the animals it would be easier to see what the

reactions are so that way they're prepared. Lastly they should have been more careful for how much they kept them in the chamber that why I believe it is wrong to test on a human being.

Vol. 2 Issue 3 States was Ronnie Lees Gardner in Utah on June 18 2010 at 12:15 Mountain daylight time. Since then nobody has opted for death by firing squad. Since that last execution by firing squad five years ago and with more states opting for lethal injection as their only source of execution and others trying to get rid of the death sentence altogether it is unknown whether the death sentence in America will continue for much longer. Gas Chambers. By. Amanda Failla

History of Horrible Things

The method of execution by firing squad dates back several hundred years ,as long as guns have been around. Only until the early to mid 1800s as a way to kill military prisoners a hanging was reserved for non-military personal around most of the western world. In the United States people in Utah and Oklahoma have the opportunity to opt for death by firing squad but only two properly recorded people have ever done so. The first being Andriza Mircovich in 1913 followed by James W. Rodgers in 1960 in Utah then Gary Gilmore in 1977,Next was John Albert Taylor in 1996 and the last execution by firing squad in the United

Gas Chambers are used to kill people, or animals. Gas chambers were made during the holocaust. At Auschwitz concentration camps. They were used to kill Jews that where mentally and physically unable to work. If they did not meet standards they would go “shower” were the gas chambers would be. There are still gas chambers in the world but only 4.Because people destroyed them after the holocaust. Some people still go and look at the remands. Because of the history. And how they survived. It started in 1939.They would use carbon dioxide. They would lock 100s of people into a room and add the poisonous gas until everyone stopped

Vol. 2 Issue 3 The guillotine was last used on September 10,1977 on Hamida Djandoubi.I believe it is good the guillotine was taken out and not used again. Because it was a very brutal Death and it looks like it would hurt a lot. That is the guillotine and when how where and why. The Electric Chair By:Kaylee Rothmeyer

The guillotine was made by Dr. Joseph-Ignace he made it in 1789.The first person that was killed by it was Nicolas-Jacques Pelletier he was executed April 25 1792 because he was a convicted felon. The reason it was made so the there could be a huge killing machine that was combined with Italy’s and France’s machines. Witch made the guillotine. Some ways how you could be sent there is bye as little as stealing but could be as big as murder. But most times they would just cut off a hand or finger for stealing. But the same thing can happen for murder even though it is a much bigger crime. The guillotine was mainly used for very big crimes committed.

The electric chair is an execution method which originated in the United States. It was used as a death penalty. The electric chair is something that literally electrocutes someone to death. Minutes before the execution, their head is shaved. Next, their legs are shaved and all facial hair. Then, an electrode is placed on the right leg. They are then taken to the chair. In 1881, after hearing a story about an intoxicated man dying so quickly from touching a live electric generator, Alfred P. Southwick got the idea of an electrical execution. His idea was that the electrocution method could be an alternative of hanging. He was a

dentist, so all of the procedures he did were in chairs. Which sparked the idea of an electric chair. Today, the electric chair is still legal as an execution method in some states. These states are Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Virginia. Arkansas and Oklahoma have laws where it can be used if lethal injection were to ever be unconstitutional. The most previous electrocution by electric chair was in 2013 in Virginia. 42 year old Robert Gleason Jr was executed for a murder in 2007 and killing his inmate in 2009. He said that more would die, too, if he wasn’t executed.

Ouija board by Camaryn Belt The Ouija, also known as a spirit board, is a flat board marked with the letters of the alphabet, the numbers 0–9, the words "yes", "no", "hello", and "goodbye", along with various symbols and graphics. Me personally, have not tried the Ouija board but I really want too. Legend says if you don’t say goodbye to the ghost / board, then there can or will be a demon haunting you. & when they haunt you the can kill you. & when you are playing say with 4 people, all people MUST keep there hands on there board. You can’t take them off, that also messes it up & they can haunt you because of that too. You can play this ‘game’ with anyone. Friends & family.. It would be really scary to play late at night in the dark, even if you were alone too. But like I said, you have to go by the ‘rules’ or you can get possessed by the devil. If anyone wants to play, I highly recommend to play with people who you know aren't gonna mess with the rules & in a safe area. So, want to play?

Poltergeist by LaShae Larson

All seems well for Eric Bowen and wife Amy and their three children as they move into there new house in Illinois. Soon, youngest daughter Maddy begins talking to an imaginary friend, or so the family thinks. It's not long before spirits wreak in the home holding Maddy captive and forcing the parents to consult a team of paranormal investigator who is trying to get the girl's freedom. I think the movie poltergeist was scary and funny there are a lot of popouts and it makes you jump. Maddy gets sucked in the closet after talking to the “people” in the TV when they get her in they won't let her out.The only way to do that is for someone to go get her.But you have to find out about that when you see the movie. will they ever get there little girl back?

I would recommend this movie to someone who likes scary movies and gets entertained by them. I would not recommend this to someone who's scared of the owing board, sports and the dark. if I was to rate this movie I would give it a 3.5 it's scary but not the scariest movie I have ever seen. Mckamey Manor by William Calabretto

With Halloween right around the corner, many people look forward going to haunted houses for a frightfully good time. However, some are left wondering if a few haunted houses are taking it too far. Mckamey Manor is billed as one of the most extreme haunted houses in the United States. has a waiting list of over 17,000 people who are hoping to have a chance of entering what is best described as living a horror movie. It’s so scary and extreme of terror that All participants must be 21 years of age or older to enter the manor. Should there be a time limit in the haunted horror and should it be legally acceptable. In the video, we see a watered down version of what happens in the McKamey Manor. Frequently people can be seen being held against their will,

Vol. 2 Issue 3 hit, punched, bound, and gagged. The experience, unlike standard 20 to 30 minute spook houses, can last anywhere from four to six hours. To make the experience even more unnerving, individuals must go through whole ordeal alone or with one other person. Groups larger than two are not allowed. The McKamey Manor “haunted house” experience lasts around four hours for each participant, and they must do it alone or with one other person. The experience is described as both mentally and physically exhausting. Though the house already had a low success rate that is, the number of people able to complete the entire experience the owners decided to up the ante and do an “experiment” to see exactly how much a participant could handle. Sadly for the first few groups, it appears the experience was too intense. Not a single group was able to make it through the entire journey without quitting. STANLEY HOTEL By: Keshawn Mayfield

But all we know is it has been there since that road was built. one time when I was out with my family to hang out with my uncle. Me and my cousin Preston decided to go up to the old abandoned. school bus it was rusted so badly that the roof had collapsed and the bus still had some backpack in it and the key was still in the ignition we decided to leave it alone. The bus is still there today. I think it was going up the hill when it ran out of gas and he must have gotten lost because he never came back. The drivers radio must have been broken so he couldn't call for help the kids must have gone with him. I think he and the kids could have been killed by mountain lions that come out at night or coyotes mid sized wild dogs. Maybe you should go out and climb up that hill. what do you think happened to them at the school bus? If you dare!

And she said she was stabbed multiple times the police asked him questions like is she awake is she breathing then he told them she can only have shallow breaths. then the police asked was there anyone near her when he saw her. he said no then the police officer asked the man to stay with her and keep her from going unconscious. the police asked if there was any blood on her body the man said he only sees blood on her cloths.

The 2 girls that stabbed the girl were planning it for months to please the Creepypasta character slender man. one of the girls told the other that if they don't do it the slender man will kill their families. When the girls did it they said

Vol. 2 Issue 3 they were going to get help but they didn’t one of the girls said when they stabbed her they said they think the saw the slender man she described the slenderman and said she sees him in her dreams when the girls were being interrogated they were blaming each other and when they said they stabbed her they said it felt like air.

Scream by Ryan Light

The scariest night by Kaleb Ash I’m going to tell you about the scariest night of my life. It happened in my house at night when I have friends over to spend the night with me. I was 10 years old wan it happened. We all were watching a movie when it happened. I noticed the door opening and closing on its own like a ghost . At first I thought it was the wind . Then I asked my sister what she thinks what was happening. She told me it might be father. I Agreed with her And I don't think is was the wind anymore . It was one of my scariest experience of my life. It was really scary because I t happened at night time . It is not going to happen anymore because my mom took off the door

Scream is not really scary. because scream is a few people that kill. they find out that one of them are doffy.and Cindy thinks that it was Bobby her boyfriend because when he sneaks over to Cindy house he pulls out his phone and the knife and the mask fall out of his packet. scream called these people and they were all yelling on the phone talking to each other. Cindy them mane person she always is the one who lives threw the whole movie. And scream always gets away when the cops get to Cindy's house.but scream would always prank call the person before he would start killing. Scream killed a girl in her school locker room.he would only kill when some one was by themselves no one else around.scream always goes after Cindy last which is at the end of the movie. bobby goes to jail because when the scream stuff fallen out of his pocket when he sneaked through the window and he pulled his phone Cindy had him arrested.the to people who tried to kill Cindy at the end put her dad in the closet.and then before the movie ended they pulled the dad out of the closet. and then that made Cindy shocked because she did not know that they kidnapped

Scariest part in my life by Val Tadlock Amityville It was a sunny day me and my brother were playing grand theft auto iv and my mom and tom was playing with my youngest brother Matthew he's about to turn a year old. so basically it was a good day so far. It was only about two hours later.

by: Hallie Hemiller

Amityville Is the most haunted because before the other people moved in a demon had a bunch of bad sprits who he put chains on and in cages and starved he told the oldest son he said catch em kill em so he started changing like in a mean way because he was getting possessed by this demon and wanted him to kill his family but when he did kill them he put the evidence somewhere and he ran off but when he ran off he changed from mean back to normal but every time they back to the same place they would go back aggressive then he called the police when he left then they police came to the house and the son went back to the house and he said he was the victim and then they asked questions and then found out he was the killer because they did fingerprints on the door knobs and he was either executed or sent to jail for life after a few years the house was up for sale and when the Lutz family moved in the dad started turning mean and try to kill his family with the same gun the

He came rolling up on his bike. We all went outside on the porch. he yelled “I’m looking for nick.” that's my brother he also yelled “ I’m gonna kill you all.” that's when he pulled out a gun and shot in the air with it my brother and us almost died that night. After that my brother nick stayed with my moms friend Hope till the cops called us saying that guy was in jail and that we were safe finally they did and he was not afraid to come home any more he stayed down there for like a week then it was all good. In the dark hallway in the house was the scariest because they would jump out at me and I wouldn't know they were there. They had a slide at the end and it goes down 3 stories. When I go down the slide it scares me & you have to be careful because it cuts you. Scary acres haunted house On the house on the hill when you first walk in, you walk in a room and there is a spinning book shelf. Then there is lack airbags around you & you walk through them while they're pushing together on you. Then there is a room with a cage with a jail cell and you are really close to the wall while sparks fly off the cage. Then you turn the corner and there is a person yelling at you to get out. To me it was scary but other people have there opinions.

Ohio State Reformatory by Josh Fearnside

The Ohio state reformatory was began in 1861 and it was built for training camp for civil war soldiers.200 hundred people died because they try to attempted to escape and Glattke died following a heart attack suffered in his office on February 10, 1959.they closed it because of federal court order and the building was under construction began in 1886 until 1910 due to funding problems and construction delays. these prisoners came on a train clear from columbus and then the were put to work right away.

The bronze, or Sicilian bull, was a torture and execution device designed in ancient Greece.] According to “Diodorus Siculus.” recounting the story Perillos of Athens invented and showed it to Phalaris, the tyrant of Akragas, Sicily as a new means of executing criminals. The bull was made of bronze, hollow, with a door in one side. The bull was in the form and size of an actual bull and had an “acoustic apparatus” that converted screams into the sound of a bull. The person was locked in the device, and a fire was set under it, heating the metal until the person inside roasted to death. Phalaris commanded that the bull be designed to where smoke rose in spicy clouds of incense. The head of the bull was designed with a complex system of tubes and stops so that the prisoner's screams were made into sounds of an angry bull. According to legend, when the bull was reopened, the victim's scorched bones "shone like jewels and were made into bracelets.” Perillos said to Phalaris: "His screams will come to you through the pipes as the tenderest, most pathetic, most melodious of bellowings." Disgusted by these

Vol. 2 Issue 3 words, Phalaris ordered its horn sound system to be tested on Perillos himself. When Perillos entered, he was immediately locked in, and the fire was set, so that Phalaris could hear the sound of his screams. Before Perillos could die, Phalaris opened the door and took him out. Perillos believed he would receive a reward for his invention instead, after freeing him from the bull, Phalaris threw him from the top of a hill, killing him. Phalaris himself is said to have been killed in the brazen bull when he was overthrown by, the ancestor of Theron. They eventually stopped being used and they came up with more execution devices. The rack, which stretched out all of you limbs until you ripped apart. The guillotine, trap your head on A wooden platform, then drop A blade on neck that cuts your head off. Most popular one is hanging people, you stand on A stool put your head through A rope then they move the stool leaving you hanging. These all were eventually retired and we got jails and prisons. The only remaining torture device is the electric chair.
