There are three broad aims of the poll. First, since Jeremy Corbyn’s victory in the Labour leadership a number of commentators have sought to understand a) how he is perceived in the country, and b) what this means for the Labour party. This poll shows the levels of approval/disapproval of Mr Corbyn amongst a range of demographic groups and supporters of each party. Second, although the polls suggest the position of the parties are little changed since May this likely masks considerable churn below the surface. This poll shows the nature of the movement between particular parties since May. And third, assuming voters have moved between parties since May, where have they moved, what are their characteristics and what are their views on issues which have been seen as problems for Jeremy Corbyn (Trident, immigration, welfare, patriotism)? The poll provides some answers to these questions. The data contains the demographic characteristics of each respondent together with their voting behaviour as far back as 2005. In addition each respondent was asked the following questions: To what extent do you approve or disapprove of each of the following?    

Jeremy Corbyn as leader of the Labour Party The Labour Party The Conservative Party David Cameron as Prime Minister

(Answer : Strongly approve / Approve / Neither / Disapprove / Strongly disapprove) To what extent do you agree or disagree with the following statements?  Immigration enriches Britain's cultural life  It is more important for a political party to reflect the views of its supporters than win elections  The renewal of the Trident nuclear submarine is estimated to cost up to £100bn over its lifetime and is an essential part of our national defence that should be renewed  Immigration is good for Britain's economy  The maximum amount of money a family can receive in benefits should be limited  Patriotism is important and our politicians should show their patriotism whenever they can (Answer : Strongly agree / Agree / Neither / Disagree / Strongly Disagree) Total sample size was 7,412 British adults. Fieldwork was undertaken by YouGov between 18th and 23rd November 2015. The survey was carried out online. The figures have been weighted and are representative of all GB adults (aged 18+). YouGov provided me with the raw data, all analysis has been undertaken by myself using this data; data provided in this release today refers to English adults only. Analysis of Scottish and Welsh adults will follow soon.
